Speaking of draft league: just wrapped up a draft in another league. Now I just need to think of a nickname theme. I thought Ting-Luminati Hotties would be fun, but I’m struggling to come up with nicknames for all 12 mons…
Coming up on the last two gyms in omega ruby and then I’m gonna finally play legends arceus. I’ve also been sitting on new pokemon snap for a while but I’ve heard it’s one of the best looking games on the switch
Bought three packs tonight for the first time in ages. I only have a fraction of my hits on collectr but noticed some of my sword and shield cards have gone way up in value. anyway sick little five ish dollar hit out of the three packs which I’ll take since I was in a huge drought last time I was purchasing packs frequently
Tossing this out there one last time: let me know if you wanna join our Pokémon Draft League. @morgantayler is back, so you know it’s gonna get real.
For anyone who might not be familiar: You draft 11 mons of varying quality given a budget of points, then every week, you know your 6 and your opponent’s 6, and you build a team of custom sets to fight them with. (It’s all online so you don’t have to worry about training things every week.) More importantly, you get to think of funney nicknames and make silly comments while spectating matches. Also I’ll be there. That should sway everyone I think. Semi-related, but this match was fun so I’m posting it: [Gen 9] Tera Preview NatDex Draft: PenguinGengar vs. morgu - Replays - Pokémon Showdown!
Been blowing through all the Switch pokemon games and it has led me to playing PokeMMO and I love it. Really wanting to learn the more in-depth stuff about pokemon and this game is the perfect avenue for it. Anyone else play?
My son started a game of Let’s go Pikachu the other day. Currently he’s rolling with a team of 2 Pikachus, 2 Bulbasaurs, Metapod, and Nidoran male.
What’s the consensus here on BDSP? I never played the original Diamond and Pearl games, so I loved BD. I have nearly 100 hours in it. Other forums seem to see it as a disappointment.
the consensus(es) I've seen elsewhere online mostly seem to be: if you never played Gen 4: "pretty good if a bit basic these days" If you only played Diamond/Pearl, never played Platinum, and haven't touched Sinnoh in 20 years: "good remakes, if a bit easy, and a bit of a shame they didn't modern remake them, but cool to play Sinnoh again" if you played Platinum ever or have played Sinnoh recently or were hoping for a more "modern" remake (adding content, including the current "gimmick", etc, like they did with the Gen 1/2/3 remakes): "incredibly disappointing, too easy, not even remakes of the best version of Sinnoh, but it was cool that you could catch more stuff in the underground at least" I'm probably in the 3rd camp most, although I don't think they were AWFUL, they were just super disapponting. it was cool there was a lot of variety in the underground (compared to what I remember from the OGs), but they were really easy games and I was really hoping for a "modern" remake of Sinnoh and it's a big shame we didn't, and now almost certainly won't, get that. I actually never bothered finishing them either my first go-around*, but I did get around to it eventually when I was working on my Home Living Dex. they'll probably be the Pokémon games I've spent the least time in over the course of my life, but they were definitely Fine. if I was gonna experience Sinnoh again I'd probably just do it in Platinum or PokéMMO though. *this is almost certainly in part because I had just played through Sinnoh in PokéMMO like 5 months or whatever it was before BD released so I had recently revisited the region and was basically just "replaying" it. if I hadn't have done it in PokéMMO at the time, I'd probably have finished them first time around I imagine. edit: also the state they launched in was pretty bad so I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the negativity comes from that launch state, which to be fair they did patch within a month, but Pokémon is a game you can finish in a week, and since all the competitive was still in Sw/Sh iirc, there wasn't a lot of reason to stick around past that, so the sentiment could have lingered for sure
also really doesn't help that Arceus came out like 3 months later and did a bunch of completely new stuff, so a bare bones complete retread of the worst version(s) of Gen 4 looked much worse at the time than it probably deserved
I got a premium box that came with promo cards and a bunch of random packs. Top row are promos, the rest are pulls. Cataloging the cards in my colored binders is so therapeutic.
