My first exposure to Pokemon was watching 2 people trade with Red and Blue, but I didn't know what it was. I would occasionally watch the show when it first aired but still wasn't big into it. I didn't become a "fan" until I watched The First Movie in theaters, so I missed out on the gen 1 games. I still remember getting Gold version as a Christmas gift the following year. Took me 4 months just to reach the Ruins of Alp.
I remember getting into Pokémon blue before the anime was popular and my small class had no interest whenever I’d try to talk about it. Then it blew up and everyone got the game and I’d wipe the floor with them because I had already beat the game. Now I don’t know shit about battling
Just completed the main story of Violet and was pleasantly surprised with the ending. It picks up once you go to Aero Zero and the reveal was quite nice. Pretty much the best part of a broken game.
First Pokemon game I played was Yellow, I think I got it for Christmas the year it came out in Europe. Later on I had Blue and Silver, then didn’t play any of the games again until Violet (which I still need to finish). I do have good memories of playing Pokemon on my brother’s old original Gameboy and eventually upgrading to a GBA.
I missed out on the starter conversation awhile back but Squirtle Totodile Torchic Piplup Tepig Didn’t play the next two Scorbunny sprigatito
This franchise is trying its hardest to be embarrassing. The card game is all that’s left to keep my interest
I will say that being way out of the loop with Pokémon for like 20 years now (lol), the TCG doing the things they’re doing with full-arts and secret-rares/trainers, and alternate-arts… adding those added layers for collectors… it’s been the most enjoyable part of pulling cards again. Because I’ve never played the game… so it gives the collectors something a bit “more” to seek out. Even still… the old-school gen 1/gen 2 holo’s are still incredible, even when compared to the modern, basic holographics. I do wish they still put the same effort and care into those as well…
thinking about selling a bunch of my pokemon games. i've got: heart gold, omega ruby, black 2, og ruby, diamond and platinum. reckon i could get a a decent amount?
