I started Violet again to catch the sushi Pokémon and the legendary beast things. I never thought I’d say this, but I prefer Pokémon to have linear and closed routes. So much of Paldea just seems to be copy and paste and I’m finding myself bored with the environment aside from a few beaches, the bamboo forest, and a few plains. At least with linear routes the games took effort to make them unique and have their own personality. I clearly remember the music and look of many routes, but I’m not even registering half of Paldea. The closed open-areas in PLA were fine, however.
I would prefer they just make a game that isn’t broken lol A lot of people love sv but they delivered an unfinished shitshow. No matter what they do, it seems like it’s going to be a problem from now on because they can’t postpone games until they’re ready.
SV was fine. definitely a broken almost unplayable mess at times, ESPECIALLY IN WATER, but it was fine. can't say i have any desire to ever play it again though.
Wasn’t there another patch supposed to come out to clean things up a bit? I know they did one shortly after it came out, but I thought there was another one coming? I’m debating on using my GameStop points to put towards the game lol.
there have been like 2 patches since i bought it last month and nothing was fixed other than bugs with mystery gift.
Part of me is torn between getting one of the new games or Sword/Shield… since I started collecting the cards again. I haven’t played a Pokémon game since Ruby/Sapphire…
if you can find sword/shield for like 30-40 i would do it. same with scarlet/violet, really. i paid full price for sword and scarlet but i don't think they were worth 60 at all.
I recommend Legends Arceus. Due to you not playing through Sinnoh, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl would also be good. The closest to the gameplay in Ruby and Sapphire but with better graphics.
The only game I actually vehemently didn’t like was the remakes and some people love those so it’s really up to you.
Delta emulator (formerly GBA4iOS) does it pretty well on iPhone, especially for games like HeartGold/SoulSilver where most of the touch screen stuff is just menus
I recommend all the remakes. Soul Silver, Alpha Sapphire, Let’s Go Pikachu, & Brilliant Diamond. I’ve enjoyed them more than the other main series games within the last 13 years, minus Black/White 2 and Legends Arceus.
It just shows how tone deaf Niantic is. A lot of complaints are because they feel the need to raise the price of remote raid passes as well lowering the spawn rate during incense.
It’s the corporates at the head, unfortunately. The people who work there that actually like Pokémon are just trying to get them to listen but they’re very ignorant and stubborn. Only way it would change is if Pokémon themselves told them to.
