The only thing you can’t change is the story and your uniform so that’s really what you’re deciding between. You can trade for every other Pokémon easily or get them in raids.

 

It seems like sandwiches don’t help your chances with outbreaks, only shiny charms do

I like the game, and I certainly love the open world aspect. However, I wish there was a way to turn off XP share. I find it to be way too easy nowadays that they've shifted to that model. The game also still seems a bit short (I havent beaten it yet, but am close)

 

The concept of leveling up your pokemon is so monotonous and time consuming that I think I'd never play again if it weren't for XP share

 

I like exp share too, it takes away from the parts that are a bit more monotonous especially if you're trying to finish a dex and need to get evolutions fast. Although candies do a good job helping with that too.

I do think Pokemon could do a bit more in terms of variable difficulty though, that's always been a point of concern (such as adding difficulty levels) but I think especially so in S/V where they to my knowledge don't have set vs switch and various things like that. It's not something I worry about at all cuz I certainly don't play it for difficulty (there's plenty of resources for more difficult Pokemon playing), but it's a very valid complaint out there for people who want it in the base game. People have gone out of their way to make challenges for themselves which is awesome but S/V makes it kinda hard to

havent done any post-game stuff yet as ive moved onto other games but i think i want to finish omega ruby and sword before coming back for the end game stuff in violet.

 

very true. I just kind of wish there was an option to turn it off is all.

 

Options very often don't hurt which makes it confusing when they're not there but especially confusing when they take some away

 

i would want to turn it off to pump more xp into my main instead of dispersing it amongst everyone if im trying to power level, however the prevalence of candies from raids in violet makes that much easier now

 

I’ve been resetting to get the shiny tatsugiri that matches my shiny dodonzo & it’s been truly awful lol

 

It should always be an option because if it is you can always do whatever you want.

Listen, you bought the game, you can play how you like. More options are always, always better.

I don’t have the Paradox mons or Fire Tauros (I still haven’t found one lol) but I have the base forms for the other exclusives if you want to trade.

Sounds good. I’ll try to get to that area tonight or tomorrow. I think you can get outbreaks of them but if just run through herds and look closely for the water Tauros. I found two pretty quickly when I was actually paying attention lol.
