Picked Farigiraf as my last guy, two levels away from everyone being evolved, still having a ton of fun.

 

This feels like a dumb question but how do I open my map lol

Im only just getting to the school, is it too early?

 

Push the '-' button and then 'x.' You'll see the option to open the map, dex, or profile.

 

Does the game actually tell you how to do that? I remember a character saying that the map was in the rotom phone but it won't let me open the phone from my bag so that's why I was confused lol. Awesome thanks!

 

It’s taking everything in me to not do a team of just dogs

 

Finally ran into a Greavard, great design especially to run into on the wild. Also Tropius is here, love Tropius.

 

I love the Pokémon actions in the overworld and the way some gather in flocks around a higher evo. I never played legends arceus so this is super new to me

I’m a fan of them changing Tropius’ never-ending gliding animation and now letting it touch the ground during battles lol

 

Tinkatuff is such a good design, the hammer takes up half the screen, its so ridiculous. They nailed it.

I found a wild Braviary that knocked out two of my guys before whirlwinding away when I had it at low health. Also lost an Altaria to a last second crit after wasting a ton of balls on it earlier. This game can be rough.

 

I don’t recall the game telling me. I was just messing around with the controls and came across it

 

Also the normal challenge and gym leader were perfect

kinda wish ALL the challenges raised the obedience cap, not just the gyms. Cuz now i find myself rushing to get through the gyms so i don’t run up on my level cap at the detriment of exploring and doing the base/titan challenges

 

Still finding myself taken out of it by the awful textures, the random lag, the 5fps animations and slow battle times, but I've been waiting for an open world pokemon for so long that I'm still having fun. 90% of the new monster designs are great, the selection of returning mons is wonderful (why are there so many of my old favourites in here gamefreak come on I'm trying to make a team of new pokemon), and I'm not really buying the wOrLd fEeLs EmPtY criticism when there's constantly packs of monsters running about. If this game had PLA's catching mechanics and physics it'd be incredible - the autobattle sucks ass when you have pokemon spawning underneath you and instantly triggering a new battle the second you finish one, just let me god damn leave, but ah well.

I feel like I've played enough now to summarize some thoughts so including em below extremely sloppily and probably forgetting tons of things, feel free to ignore. Not talking anything about performance till the end since it's a pretty tired conversation. We'll see if any of these things change by the time I finish.
