There was a cutscene early on in a small classroom where every kid is moving at less than 10 frames a second. It aint good.

 

pokemon's core gameplay hasn't changed in 30 years so that's a given

 

I played wow in 06 with an IBM laptop, textures just straight up wouldn’t load and the pop in took literally a minute of standing in a town so my tolerance is pretty high to that kind of thing

 

sounds like the background small monsters in rise, the wings flapping look like they’re stuttering sometimes it can’t be anymore than 10 frames for those but again, didn’t make me like the game any less for it

 

Problem here is that these characters are not in the background, haha. But Im not gonna harp on it, as I said earlier, I am really enjoying myself.

It’s open world and you can go to any gym but you can’t actually have Pokémon beyond a certain level because they won’t obey you unless you beat a certain amount of gyms lol why

 

The cloud shadows are like windows 98 graphics lol

 

I think grass cat is my favorite but I let Laura get the cat starter when there is one so I'm rolling with Quaxly

sorry but I have a huge grin on my face right now this game rips so far lol I’m prepared for some technical stuff to start annoying me but nothing so far is too bad but a lot of cut corners and shoddy work is certainly noticeable, but yeah it’s not detracting at all

 

I think this is coming true. I was SHOCKED when I opened the game and started playing it and felt how it played, but the further in I've gotten the more it becomes apparent how many things outside of performance this game is doing right, and how the performance doesn't interfere TOO much. I think it just built upon itself a lot more at the start for me due to having to also go through tutorial stuff and all that. At least I hope that's the case, because it's feeling tremendously better for me now.

 

Won’t get to really play until tonight, but my only complaint remains not being able to catch Pokémon without battling them.

 

Is auto battle particularly useful for anything other than a fast way to farm materials?
