It’s got a plethora of issues but gameplay wise I think this is the best mainline entry in a really long time

 

The graphical issues are purportedly caused by memory leak. Now I couldn't really tell you what that even means, but what I can tell you is that, reportedly, a simple reset (temporarily) resolves it.

 

It took me a while to figure out how to access the Pokédex

 

I'd suggest we rely on each other and experiences we have rather than base opinions on the online discourse from the Pokemon community (not saying that hasn't been going on in here) I'm going to get this today because I am honestly curious to see how much of a mess it is. I can tolerate a lot of technical mess lol.

I will report my experience.

Yeah I recommend people have their own experience for sure and won't discourage anyone who was interested in it from getting it haha, I think the hivemind around it and treating it like we need to boycott or something even if we wanna try it is weird

My experience is ass rn though but also it's been a couple hours on release day so a lot can change

No idea who that user is. This thread has been great for the pros and cons of the state of the game. If someone doesn’t think the subreddit is toxic they most likely post on it

 

i don't go on reddit so i don't know all that, but that wasn't really my overall point anyways

 

i heard similar stuff about Sw/Sh and Arceus and then didn't encounter anything noticeable so i'm hoping for the same experience this time. or a patch to fix shit between now and tomorrow when i get the game

I don’t even think about reddit, it’s just always like that one way or the other. It’s either toxic positive or toxic negative and even if you’re agreeing with someone they’ll go out of their way to insult you, it makes me very glad chorus exists.

 

Yeah I saw a youtuber that's had the game for a few days say that going into the Mesa Goza area and leaving will fix it as well.

 

Same, I never had any issues before either. This game is the first time I’ve noticed so many glitches, it’s just too much. I love the open world a lot so far, just totally spaced out for three hours in the first route lol

idk how i’m ever going to finish this game i’ve already spent like five hours just roaming around completing nothing. i love the “send your pokémon out to battle and collect shit on their own” mechanic

 

Yeah, performance here is definitely quite bad. Even without anything game breaking, the frames of animation on some of the NPCs is pretty jarring.

That being said, the game whips ass and Im having a great time so far. Just caught a Toedscool and it is a horrible little creature.

How jarring are we talking? Monster hunter rise small monster jarring? Because that was bad but before long I just naturally ignored it

 

I spent a lot time playing games on PC when I had a pretty shitty one, so bad FPS etc doesn’t bother me ever but I can definitely see it bothering people here.
