There are some designs that are just dex-and-box fillers. The coin Pokémon and its evo….nuke. Pseudo dragon legendary…front of the team
Paldea is BIG. I played for 3 hours with only 10 minutes of cutscenes and I still didn’t go to the first town/city. Total exploration with enough Pokémon to keep it busy (I caught around 18/ran into over 32 different species). BOTW’s map took me about 20 minutes to run across. I’d be surprised if I can run across Paldea in under 15.
Also Houndour has been my favorite Pokémon since gen 2 and I nearly teared up seeing my boy have his shining moment in the opening of this game.
So far it's pretty awful IMO The subreddit definitely blows things out of proportion and is quick to hate anything but the performance has been really off-putting for me even compared to what I expected
As someone who has pretty much only ever played Pokémon games and Mario Kart, could I get a quick explanation as to what people mean when they say the performance is bad? I won’t be able to pick the game up for a few days but I’m curious
Extreme FPS issues in the open world to the point where it looks like a stop motion. Enemies/Trainers clipping all over, sometimes through the map itself. Game crashes
When walking near cliffs sometimes the cliff texture moves and it looks like an LSD trip. Among many other buggy things. I still enjoyed the couple hours I got to play last night.
I literally had a freeze frame while throwing a pokeball and then once the mon was caught, it showed me a portal through the floor lol how they’re not patching it already is beyond me, there are so many glitches. It’s worse than bdsp in that somehow haha
I think I just reached the point where I can play with three other people and do trades, have to take a break for a few hours because I’m an idiot and scheduled art class in the afternoon though. Let me know if anyone wants to team up.
Wellp sucks to know the performance issues are as bad as reported over the last several weeks. Not sure I'll be buying this now
it's still a pokemon game though so it's going to sell a ridiculous amount regardless of performance issues and gamefreak will in turn learn nothing
After you catch a Pokémon it can be but 95% of the time while I’m running around it’s fine. If you’re talking about r/Pokemon, yeah, it’s very toxic. Same thing happened with Sw/Sh was released. A bunch of nerds who only post if it’s something negative.
It’s mostly just FPS while you’re running around and even then it’s just on occasion, I’d say it’s not any worse than PLA. The serious stuff is not happening to most players.
if any other game performed like this it would get shit on (see: wwe 2k20, fallout 76) but when pokemon does it's perfectly acceptable and you're toxic for pointing it out.
I really hate how much I want to complain about this game, and I enjoyed SwSh a lot Hoping it does get better, trying to be optimistic but it's hard with how it's been going. Especially with QOL changes being intentionally taken away (at least from what I can see so far)
I have seen zero people say it’s perfectly acceptable but it can absolutely be toxic the way people shit on others who can enjoy it despite the problems and claim they’re “giving it a pass” or whatever
Spend 3 minutes in that subreddit. It’s nothing new. Every Pokémon release is flooded with only negative comments for nearly a week.
