Having said that before about the starters, there's a lot of designs I love in this gen. All of the ancient paradox pokemon are 10/10 for me, the Primeape and Bisharp evolutions are awesome, all the legendaries are fantastic, a lot of the first stages I just love (Protect Cetoddle with your god damn life) and I don't know why but the fuckin Cheestring lookin' goof just made me really happy
all the footage i've seen was on switch hardware with the day one patch installed, so i think we're just SOL. gamefreak is just incapable of making a smooth running 3d pokemon game.
i mean same but that's also sad. pokemon is the most profitable franchise in the world, there's just no excuse for the games to be as poorly made as they have been over the last 10 years
Idk what you guys are talking about, Austin John said he got a copy early and the game looks amazing compared to any of the trailers. I hope people aren’t making decisions based seeing randos play shoddy simulators or whatever
the legitimate switch hardware has been out in the wild for at least 5 days now. people are playing it now with the day one patch. so it's not an emulator run, but even then switch emulation is fully cracked at this point so it would effectively be the same thing.
I am absolutely basing it off of the official trailers they released. Shouldn't have made a game that runs like that then.
Yeah it's weird. I'm excited for the games and think I'ma have a great time with em, but I think the criticisms of how the game looks and runs are valid for sure. A lot of other developers would be roasted to oblivion for releasing promotional material in the state Pokemon's has been in (and I'm sure some have been). I think using that as a reason to criticize the rest of the game is a bit much, which I have certainly have seen, but it's still worth mentioning
Also maybe I have low standards but I only really ever care how games run as it impacts combat and in a turn based game it’s never really an issue that will actually impact my ability to defeat enemies like it would in an action based game so it’s easier to overlook. Others are probably different than me and that’s fair too
sword and shield was *fine* i wish i had bought it on sale instead of paying full price cus it's certainly not worth 60 dollarydoos
Swsh is always gonna be underrated because it didn’t look as good as it could have but it was definitely a good game and had a lot to do around and after the game. It added a lot of mechanics that made the game much easier for competitive play and had some really cool characters. All in all, it was fine. I’m just excited and hopeful this game goes further. The switch pro can’t come sooner lol
The quality of life in SwSh was INSANE, and it sounds like SV is building on that well I also liked a lot of the mons. The power creep was not my favorite but I think SwSh did a lot of things right that can be explored further in the future
The price was the thing that ultimately bothered me most about SwSh. AAA console price for a game that was on par with its handheld forebears full incensed me. Yeah the QOL improvements are definitely noteworthy, but almost everything else was extremely unimpressive.
We've known since 3DS that Pokémon games are lacking in the graphics department. It's just so dull and repetitive to bring it up during each new game. It won't change and we all know this. Drowning out dialogue on each drop with the same complaint just kills the vibe. *Insert 'first time?' gif*
