So how does shiny hunting outbreaks work? Do I just save scum once an outbreak appears until I get the shiny?
Have to reset like ten times for a regular shiny, can’t imagine how many times I’d have to reset for an alpha lol
It happened again, I was doing an eevee outbreak, the shiny shows up and the auto-aim is trash so it runs away. I reset the game and “the outbreak has ended”, really fucking sucks. I had to reset it soooo many times is so I just wasted an hour plus for nothing lol
I'm at the point where I'm not actively seeking anything I already have in Pokemon Home. It severely limits what I'm shooting for, but whatever. Curious when connectivity comes around for that.
Next time that happens, save when you see the shiny. It will still be there when you restart the game.
Lol same I’m not sure if the game has some kind of way of understanding how long an outbreak has been going on without saving or not but I only save it before I go to the outbreak now
Sorry, I missed your post about the first time this happened! This actually only works for non-outbreak shinies (well, sort of). The game handles outbreaks differently from all other wild Pokemon. The flag that’s making them despawn is triggered when you get close enough to the Pokémon that the “you’ve found the reported outbreak” message pops up. If you save while it’s on-screen but you haven’t got close enough to trigger the message, you’ll be ok. That’s why in my opinion the easiest/safest way to do it is still to save right when you load into the base camp, because the outbreak Pokemon are already generated. It forces you to do a bit of extra walking, but it’s worth it imo rather than risking losing the shiny.
Thank you, this was exactly what I thought i was doing wrong! Got a shiny Turtwig very quickly after fixing this
I'm still unsuccessful with outbreak hunting. Haven't seen a single shiny for one yet. I know I'm doing it right thought because I get changes in spawns on the way to the outbreak locations. Just have bad luck I guess lol.
The spawns on the way there will be random no matter what, even if the outbreak mons are the same. Are you getting occasional alphas within the outbreak? That seems to be the easiest way to tell if your actual outbreak spawns are changing.
We have a Pokémon draft league over on Discord if anyone is interested. We might need a few coaches for the upcoming season. Nothing promised, but if you’re interested in joining, let me know.
I have a friend who’s been doing the same for a week now and nothing It makes me feel bad for complaining about being annoyed I’m still doing a three hour reset for a certain shiny because I know it’ll at least happen eventually
Might be the first mon I don’t pick up immediately, just have no interest. From everything I’ve seen it’s just a slightly bulkier and less agile version of absol.
I've had Arceus since the release day, and I don't have a lot of time to play so I only just got Sneasler. I am so happy to be able to climb these mountains now. It was frustrating when my Wydeer couldn't reach something.
