It's shocking how fun and frustrating this game is at the same time.

 

I only just beat Liligant, got a bit of a late start on this with other stuff going on last weekend, but I’m absolutely loving it. Most fun I’ve had with a Pokémon game since probably B/W.

 

Is anyone else seeing a lot of the same names when finding satchels? Richie, Anna, and Jesse, get your goddamn shit together.

 

those are npc satchels. in order to get real player's satchels, you need to be connected to the internet.

 

I have been. I didn't even know that NPC satchels were a thing. Well that's less funny to me.

How rare are Lickilicky and Lickitung? I got 3 space time distortions within an hour and caught a ton of them haha. Got a Leafyon and a couple Sylveons too

 

They aren't rare in certain areas.

 

Woah, had two different times where I had three shinies in an hour

Got an extra shiny ursaring now because I got one random full odds just recently while trying to get goomy

 

I’m at research level 10 for everything except for the Cranidos I STILL can’t catch lol

I just found and caught a shiny Magikarp on my first mass outbreak and it was like the 6th Magikarp that appeared. That was my first attempt at shiny hunting and it went pretty well I'd say haha.

 

Update: immediately just caught a second one.

This game handles shinies in an odd way.

Just caught a shiny Gligar on the first mass outbreak of them as well. He was one of the original four.

Sounds like people weren't lying when they said the odds of catching shinies in this game are significantly higher than in previous games.

Honestly? Thank god. I don't want to put in a lot of effort for something that's essentially just a simple pallette swap.

 

They should also be called swappies or something instead of Shinies because they aren't shiny 9/10.

 

Okay so this is anecdotal of course, but I really do believe it's significantly easier to get shinies in this game.

These are the shinies I got just tonight, most of them were done on the first or second reset of a mask outbreak in just a few hours so basically no effort at all (except Kricketune which was just out in the wild somewhere):

2 Magikarp, 1 Gligar, 1 Gible, 1 Spheal and 1 Kricketune

 

This aged well - I caught Cranidos literally ten minutes later, full research 10 dex minus Darkrai because I didn’t get BDSP

 

It helps that you don't have to engage in battle to see them, there are A LOT of pokes out there, and you can just breeze by everything.

 

Very true, I was flying somewhere and saw the sparkle of a shiny Starly, dropped (taking fall damage lol) and just threw an Ultra Ball outside of combat
