I've been trying it ever since I heard earlier today. I hope it's true.

I've only encountered one Pokemon since I learned the trick and caught it on the second throw and forgot to check my number. Living in the country is shit for this game.

Same. It's never worked for me and I've been trying it since yesterday.

Servers have been terrible all f'n day. Haven't played at all.

 

After I sung the praises of the servers staying up they've been down for an hour or so.

But I'm currently planning my day out on Friday. I'll be going to a Dodgers game at night so I'm trying to figure out how many stops I can make before I get there.

 

lots of server issues tonight. made battling at the gym impossible. did sit in a crowd of like 20 people playing tonight for a little though.

Update 7/11/2016 10:06PM EST: Niantic released a statement saying that “Pokémon GO only accesses basic Google profile information.” Here’s the full statement:

We recently discovered that the Pokémon GO account creation process on iOS erroneously requests full access permission for the user’s Google account. However, Pokémon GO only accesses basic Google profile information (specifically, your User ID and email address) and no other Google account information is or has been accessed or collected. Once we became aware of this error, we began working on a client-side fix to request permission for only basic Google profile information, in line with the data that we actually access. Google has verified that no other information has been received or accessed by Pokémon GO or Niantic. Google will soon reduce Pokémon GO’s permission to only the basic profile data that Pokémon GO needs, and users do not need to take any actions themselves.

Haven't had a server problem til just now, was about to get a magmar and the game just pooped out on me.. Ugh

 

Servers have been shite here all day yet I've still evolved like five or six Pokemon and leveled up three times. There was a row of restaurants near my office that all had lures popped, and one restaurant was right in the middle so you were within range of three lures at once, and it was attracting so many people. Probably why we ate there. Caught probably 30 Pokemon in a half hour and used a lucky egg for a shit ton of XP.

 

Honestly, I don't think any of us can really be mad about the servers. I've had plenty of glitches and restarts, but it's been worth it. The sheer amount of people using this is almost unbelievable.

I took over my first gym today as a level 10, but someone took it from me within ten minutes after I walked away. My girlfriend has been playing along with me, who I thought would honestly make fun of me for it, and is now ahead of me level wise and catches. Kind of bums me out haha. But we had a lot of fun today searching around and going for walks. I think this app is a good, fun idea and I hope they take things slow and don't add too much too soon. Let people get comfortable and built up for a bit, then give it to us piece by piece.

 

There's an Eevee taunting me right now. I'm out of Poke Balls and the Eevee has been by my house for 6 hours now. Just laughing at me knowing I can do nothing.

 

the battery saver thing on here is trash because every time I use it for more than like a minute, my game freezes and I have to start the app up again.

I have to avoid trees because every time I try and catch a Pokemon near a tree, my game freezes up.

and yet I will still gladly walk twice a day just to catch pokemon.

 

Finally evolved another Eevee, so I've got a Vaporeon and Jolteon now. Also evolved Ryhorn, and Growlith which immediately became my strongest Poke.

 

Im at level 7 now. Finally had a chance to explore today. Caught Nidoran, Jigglypuff and Tauros today. Got 4 eggs incubating too.

 

Does everyone see the same Pokemon in an area? Like, in those tweets would everyone in that area (within the GPS circle) have seen a Dragonaire?

EDIT: Just realized all I do is ask questions here... My team is pretty lame now, mostly normal/ground types because even though my neighborhood has a ton of people it's still pretty residential and I have to make a bit of a trek to get to any stops/gyms.

 

The amount of Pokemon I've caught from bed by closing/reopening the app and letting the gps relocate is insane.

 

Second Eeveelution was a 750 Jolteon yay :3
