An hour in, I'm kind of bored. Hoping the tutorial stuff wraps up soon. Also, how do you catch an alpha pokemon? I ran into a lvl 40 alpha rapidash and my Pokemon were lvl 8 lol
Not completely sure how I feel about this yet. Only a couple hours in, I love the aesthetic but the gameplay hasn’t grabbed me yet. Gonna play a lot more tomorrow so I’ll probably have a real opinion then
It feels so so so much better battling in this game than any other pokemon game so far The lack of jarring scene switching and seamless transition back to overworld is great, really enjoying this so far but jesus man this game is ugly, screenshots and videos did not prepare me for how bad the environments look
You battled it, right? I tried throwing all the honey at it and just throwing pokeballs and nope. Still probably not strong enough to battle alphas, going to wait until I have an all evo team
The Kricketune I just found in the wild and hid and threw a pokeball at its back and it stayed caught the parasect I tried to battle
Oh, I’m confused. I thought you said you caught an alpha kriketune. Why is paras soooo aggressive? Would have never guessed lol
Should I care about the effort value of Pokémon early on? I know that doesn’t mean their ivs are good, right?
I’m having a lot of fun with this game. I haven’t even gotten to Kleavor yet, I’m just getting caught up running around catching and exploring
Ok, I’m sold. Just beat the second boss and really enjoying this now. I actually honestly like the graphics (or at least the art direction). It gets a little distracting when there are actual graphical bugs happening (I had an alpha shinx’s eyes keep dropping into the ground, and I’ve seen some flowers glitching back and forth) but I think it’s actually a really cool aesthetic take on Pokémon. Surprised how much I’m liking this now given I really was not hooked at first
The graphic style is great IMO but the performance is just...really frustrating. Perfection isn't expected but I'd still expect better than what I've seen so far (like a NPC not appearing until I'm 5 feet away from them), especially this early on. It's a good time so far though. I think I'll really enjoy it even though those things are taking me out of the game way more than I thought they would.
I think most people would be ok with the presentation (especially on a technical side) if it was some niche indie game, but Pokémon is literally in the top 3 franchises in the world. They have *all the money*. But then again people still buy the game so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yup, that pretty much sums it up. You'd expect better because of how big they are, and you'd also expect them to not care cuz people will buy it anyway. It's frustrating but it is what it is
The alpha lopbunny in the dark fog where you can only see it’s glowing eyes and hear it scream is wild
They’re too loyal to the same dev team they’ve always used, the fact that they used someone different for bdsp was surprising And also, they were not much better lol
I haven’t experienced any technical issues yet, and I think the graphics are mostly fine (even though I agree more should be expected), but the animation during cutscenes when a character is shocked/surprised and their mouth drops really wide is flat out disturbing
