After being sorely disappointed by SWSH and BDSP I'm cautiously excited for Arceus after seeing the leaks and general positive reaction. Playing D&D tomorrow so won't be able to play too much but I'm looking forward to picking it

 

so I've been playing PLA for a couple of days now. probably my favourite pokemon game since B/W(2) after being sorely disappointed in the last few mainline entries. it's very good.

 

I really hope they don’t just keep the same boring formula with the main series and only do cool stuff with the legends series but I wouldn’t be surprised either way.

Is it the starters?

 

only pokemon you can catch more than once are unlocked. Starters, legendaries, and mythics are all locked.

 

What? I’m pretty sure you can catch the starters

Yeah, I guess they are but I’m pretty sure you can catch every starter so that first part was wrong

 

You can catch starters in the post-game. Only the gift starters are shiny locked

 

So just the starters from this game then? That sucks, maybe they’ll do something for them. That shiny decidueye and samurott are so cool

There is a mechanic that creates rare spawns and the starters can be caught through it.

 

Yes they can as far as I know. Only gifts are locked.

 

What is a gift starter? I’m so confused, I thought that meant your first choice of starters

Started Let's Go again to do some shiny hunting. I forgot how difficult it is to get balls/money.

 

The new Gastly model is good imo.

 

Do outbreaks only happen after you beat the game?

 

It may not happen until you hit a certain level, but you can get access to it midgame. Not sure at what point though.

 

Game got delivered today when it said it wouldn't until tomorrow and now i'm not gonna do any work and load it up!
