they need a way to battle other than gyms. most of the gyms in my area are way too high for me to attack.

 

You "train" by fighting the pokemon at the gym. So if you are at your own teams gym (If you're Team Instinct, you would be fighting a Yellow gym) you hit the little fight icon on the bottom right. It doesn't matter if you win or lose, you still help the gym and yourself by gaining XP and you gain prestige for the gym. The higher the prestige, the more spots are available to leave a pokemon to defend.

 

It is my understanding that Trainer Battles and Trading will be a feature in future updates.
They are taking it slow I guess.

 

ah, hmm that still sucks then. Went in to my own gym, faitned two pokemon, and i didn't seem to gain anything at all. I suppose I got more XP, I'll have to check next time if my XP actually gained

 

Wish I would've figured this game out before leaving San Fran.

 

I'm going to keep taking my dog for walks because every time I walk with her I catch some good Pokemon. Today I caught a Raticate, Sandslash, Growlithe and a Geodude. I'm super close to hitting level 5.

 

I'm waiting at the Red store in Hollywood for an order, and the Boys and Girls club next door is a Pokestop so I dropped a lure and cracked a lucky egg ready to go nuts and then the game immediately quit and now the servers are down lol fuck this

 

haha yeah you need 400 candy so it's 100 to get the candy and then an extra 1 to evolve.

Where I live there is always like 2 or 3 around because there is a lake behind my house, so I can farm magikarps from my bed.

 

that's pretty great. I suppose a beach day or two is in the cards for me soon

 

Pretty sure yes this is how it works. It also varies depending on the Pokemon. I don't think anyone's really "figured it out" but just from my experience that's what I've noticed.

 

it requires the same amount of stardust, apparently. it's actually better to evolve early to find out its final moveset, otherwise you might end up wasting a lot of stardust powering up a pokemon with a moveset you hate.

 

Stalked a building today because I had Electabuzz on my radar. The building turned out to be a hospital/medical centre/teaching facilities and I am not ballsy enough to go inside searching, where I figure it actually is. Never ended up closer than 3 footprints away and I did the perimeter of the building.

 

Yeah I'm pretty sure that all potential benefits you could get from holding off on evolving don't really exist in this, so might as well do it ASAP. It's why I have so many Pidgeots and Radicates

 

There's apparently a Mewtwo in a Chili's twenty-five minutes from here. I'm too drunk to drive and have become irrationally upset because of this. This stupid game. I love it.

no way in hell a level seven with regular pokeballs could catch a mewtwo, yeah?

If there's a Pokemon in your area, the CP level adjusts to your avatar's level.

 

Has anyone heard anything about any of the legendaries besides this? I figured they'd be some special event in the future
