If I never hear “scyther wants to be petted” again it will be a good day

 

The breakpoints for new spawns are obtaining the TMs for Strength, Defog, 7 Badges, Waterfall and finally the National Dex according to research done. There are apparently 9 levels ranges, so they don't seem to correspond directly to badge acquisition but we also don't seem to know what causes them to increase exactly.

There's a bunch of detailed info here if you're interested in knowing (almost) the exact mechanics down there, but it also ruins any kind of surprise so view at your own risk I guess.

 

Finally found a couple heart scales. Got a Mamoswine. Time to wreck any dragon types that come my way

I gave up and just caught a Roselia in the underground

 

I tried to do that but it was taking forever

Wait, there’s a way to get to an ice cave in the first underground caves? How?

So if you dig in groups you can do the shiny method quicker, which means you have a better chance of getting a shiny in one of the caverns

 

The first egg you get is a Happiny

 

If you got it from the guy at the Iron Islands it’s Riolu.

 

Ah I haven’t been to iron island yet, but I got an egg from someone around the 3rd gym

 

I still haven’t gotten the third badge yet, taking a break for as long as possible

Have to say, my initial impression about the art style from the reveal event still hold true. Even though I did not play these games back when they first came out, I did play Gens 1-3. The art style in this game is incredibly nostalgic, with the chibi overworld/full proportioned battle scenes, it’s an exact translation of the old art style from Gens 1-5. I liked it when they first revealed it and I still like it now.

I think you just need to beat the eterna city gym. I just beat the third and I had already traded with someone

Lmao I can't believe someone modded this game on day 1.

Basically, someone made it so every time you level up, you evolve into literally any Pokemon in the game. And made all Pokemon proper sizes so Wailord takes up the entire screen heh

 

Through four gyms, and this is bringing me back
