Seriously. Gen 1 had one dragon type line. Gyrados would have given a second line for balancing. They should’ve made a Galarian Gyrados that was water/dragon, and not changed a thing about it.
I made a list of Gen 1 types I would adjust before Golduck, Psyduck - Water/Psychic Geodude, Graveler, Golem - Rock Bellsprout, Weepinbell, Victreebell - Grass Farfetch'd - Fighting/Flying (kind of like the how the new one is) Doduo/Dodrio - Ground/Flying Cloyster - Water Onix- Rock Cubone, Marowak - Ground/Ghost (also kind of implemented later) Rhyhorn, Rhydon - Ground Gyarados - Water/Dragon Not many I'd change but some of the dual types are way too common and some miss something obvious. Also I think Porygon should be like anything but normal, its a cyber pokemon. Electric/Psychic would make much more sense, even steel or ghost. It should be something!
Charizard- Fire/Dragon Though I guess having a starter become a Dragon type might have been a bit much.
I think flying still makes sense, and given that there are three possible options its better not to make one starter overpowered. I think they made the right call with that and for the exact opposite reasons the wrong call with Gyarados.
Edited my comment before seeing yours, but yeah having a starter become a Dragon type would probably have been overkill.
do you mean as a type or just pokemon that are Rock/Ground competitively speaking the two fill very different roles
Psyduck not being psychic makes complete sense. It has psychic abilities but can't really control them. Golduck not being psychic and the names not being switched is the stupid thing about them.
Yeah I just meant having those two types in general. I’m sure they have their uses. It just seems like a rock would always just be ground too. edit: like when the types were designed I mean. Just thought it was an interesting choice and surprised it wasn’t combined to make room for another type
#13 most CP in VGC play and probably would be higher if COVID didn't hit since Rhyperior/Dusclops became the most common meta right as things started to shut down
They only have 6, 3 of which are not common offensive types(grass, steel, ice) and out of the other 3 the only one that's really bad is water, as they have the physical bulk to take fighting and ground moves(as those are mainly physical types). There's a lot worse defensive typings in the games lol and it's an incredible offensive typing
Okay, I still don’t like any Pokémon having 6 weaknesses so I don’t know why you keep @ me. I know all this and it doesn’t change my mind about that fact. It’s annoying and belittling.
Rhydon outperformed Gardevoir Drednaw and Mamoswine in VGC this season, that's kinda crazy But yeah it's very good
