Tbf the Johto level curve taught me from an early age not to be that bothered with being overleveled in a pokemon game
I’m a little more sympathetic to the complaining now that I’ve seen the extent of everything that’s been removed. I think my biggest complaint would be the lack of detail in the background of the battle scenes and stuff like that. Moves don’t bother me so much because honestly I think I always used the same basic moves and never play competitively. I’m on the fence about the removal of Pokémon. Hopefully they realize their mistake and work to change it on the next version. Or maybe there’s a third version again and they fix this stuff. I think removing stuff like z moves and mega evos is dumb. Even though I didn’t care for them to begin with, why introduce something that was so big for a generation just to remove it? that being said, I’m still gonna get the game as soon as I can
love that ‘mon so this is good news for me. i’m not as bummed out as most people with the changes. kind of want to give the benefit of doubt and actually play it first, but i also won’t be surprised if i end up with the same criticisms. single player experience has always been secondary to me tho for the competitive, has ferrothorn ever dominated Doubles? i might have just forgotten bec it’s been a long time, but i don’t remember HP existing solely for him. and there might be enough Pokemon that can learn Fire moves that it might not even matter.
Yeah as someone who isnt in the competitive scene the move cuts dont bother me either. Also half of them are z-moves and LGPE exclusive moves so its only 77 moves after that.
I’d love to do a gen with all new Pokémon, none returning from old games. But then after you beat the game the full dex is available with all the Pokémon. Gold silver always seemed like the best to me because it had two full regions, it was a brand new thing that celebrated the Passat so well. This just seems like half measures all around.
Rapid Spin now does more... raises the user’s Speed stat, and is now 50 power (up from 20). Multi-Attack (Silvally) is now 120 power (up from 90).
I don’t know what kind of bad juju they put into the creation of Silvally. They took a Pokémon I hated when it was announced and gave it an evo that I somehow hated even more then made it useless
They turned all the good TM’s into single use TR’s. Christ. What’s the fucking point. Toxic is no longer a TM or TR.
You can purchase them again. But you need to grind Watts in the raids. We don’t know how hard/easy that is yet.
I guess it's just tutor equivalent so maybe not a big deal. Do we know how many moves are locked behind em? Edit: Just looked at the list NEVER MIND that's a LOT
