Some of the new typings in this game have me soooooooo excited now.

 

It’s because Pokémon boycotts don’t really happen. No one wants to sit out on a new region to explore. It’s all talk.

 

How anyone can defend GF/Nintendo’s decisions here is absolutely baffling, and that, as yet, there’s no actual reasonable defense of them, should give those people pause.

Massively limiting player choice for reasons that don’t alter the fundamental gameplay doesn’t sound like a purely, or even remotely, creative decision. And if it were in fact just that, it’s nonsensical.

 

I don’t think anyone is defending the decisions necessarily. It’s just stupid to be *mad online* about them.

 

As someone who hasn't played this series since they moved to the DS, I'm excited af to play a new Pokemon game. Most of this stuff is going to be all new to me.

 

I currently have no interest in these games at all but I know I’ll end up getting sword eventually

 

“They made it more manageable” and “They’re free to do what they want” coupled with the lack of criticism sounds a lot like attempts at defenses.

 

Decided I am not gonna listen to anymore negativity online and just enjoy what are sure to be great games!

 

Do we know much about version exclusives yet? Besides the cover legendaries obviously. I’ve weirdly been kinda outta the loop with Sword & Shield stuff despite being like a hawk for information on the past games.

I think there are more exclusives but it’s all unconfirmed. The ice moth seems like it might be shield exclusive while the fire salamander is sword, for example.

Solid picks. I could see myself using any of those too. I’m interested to see when you can catch certain mons. The octopus Pokémon look super cool but are so late in the dex than I’m not sure they’re worth keeping a spot open for.

 

You 100% have a point. When I made a similar list when Sun/Moon came out it seemed like half of my team changed because so many Pokemon I wanted to use weren't available until way late in the game.

 

I really wanted Kommo-o but couldn’t get him until victory road. And then you couldn’t evolve Vikavolt until stupidly late in the game and ended up dropping Chargabug because of it.

 

does anyone have any good recs on randomizer rom hacks or hacks with similar fun gimmicks? kinda wanna throw one on my phone for commutes and stuff. pref one that runs in a GBA or DS emulator natively.

 

These 3 and Frosmoth are all strong contenders for my Shield team.

 

Corviknight was a lock for my team the second I saw that majestic bird.

 

Barraskewda looks broken as fuck lol that’s gonna be fun.
