I love Grookey’s final evo.

 

The Gigantamax Pokemon gimmick is one of the worst ideas GameFreak has implemented into a Pokémon game.

 

but you always have that chance, you just didnt make the choice to. they are removing that choice.

 

I don't mind grookey's final evolution but no way I'm using a mono grass type

 

i am buying day one at midnight and will love it, but the only thing more annoying than the hyperbolic negativity is the people mocking the complainers and painting them all with that brush. the mission statement of these games has literally always been "catch them all", and that is no longer possible, and there is no visible justification.

- the animations they cited are largely recycled
- not even all of the models from Let's Go were used
- no post-game meat

why were these cuts made? likely to create a selling point for future games and little more. why consumers are making fun of other consumers for being against something that is debatably pretty anti-consumer, idk.

 

I make fun of them because it comes across as very entitled. People act like Nintendo/Game Freak aren't allowed to make the game that they want to, then throw a tantrum about it on Reddit when they don't make the game they want.

 

it's a huge change to a core pillar of the formula that potentially invalidates years of grinding and attachment, guess i dont think gamefreak needs me to come to their side. i am past the point of acting like gamefreaks decades long habit of poor optimization and feature chopping is an artistic liberty. theres way more evidence pointing to them not wanting to do the work.

I doubt it. I think there is more money in putting out an entirely new game with an expanded roster in a year or two.

 

It’s obnoxious because we all know those who post about how much they hate the game will still buy it. It happens with every generation.

I agree that it’s dumb that people who expect to be disappointed in a thing play it anyway instead of complaining without ever playing it to see if their feelings were justified

 

there are plenty of people who are happily buying the game (me) that would also like to see the negative reaction lead to a more robust if not complete Pokedex in future games. we are at the point where no one is talking about the issue, just the complainers complaining about supporters and supporters complaining about complainers. it happens all the time and is always the most useless convo to have

 

and Red Dead 2 sold a trillion copies and theres plenty of shit in that game that people all over here moaned and continue to moan about, these sales comparisons are so useless, sellthrough does not equal quality. people dont have to boycott something they like 80 percent of just because they hate 20 percent, buying anyways doesnt make them hypocrites or anything, and it doesnt mean they have to accept everything about it wholesale either.

 

I'm just excited for a meta game without Landorus-T

 

I still think they were the worst mainline games and Game Freak ignored all of the obvious issue with them.

The 'Gotta Catch em all' argument is a bit silly considering they retired that slogan a while ago due to the amount of pokemon there are now. I dont think it would have been feasible to continue including every single pokemon forever, so they had to draw the line somewhere.

 

Gotta catch em all also came from the anime not the games

I totally understand the complaints. I get it. But to me it’s more so about the energy they put into those posts. Like Game Freak killed their child or something. I understand it’s something you love but at the end of the day it’s just a video game

 

It’s going to be disappointing when your expectations aren’t met. But some of the outrage is super unwarranted. But that’s the internet for you....
