I’m kind of more annoyed at the fact that we can transfer some but not all than I would be if they just would have made a clean cut. On the broader discussion here: I think they are definitely cutting corners. Their excuse would make sense if people would want to catch all Pokemon rather than just transfer them. I understand why they’re doing it though. They, the Pokemon Company and Nintendo expect certain margins from Pokemon games and in the HD era that probably requires corner cutting.
So they decided to restrict the dex because some people felt overwhelmed by an entirely optional task? Acquiring them all isn't required; the way to manage that is simply not doing it.
Most player’s don’t play to catch them all. They would try to get their favourites. Also it’s not like they couldn’t include them but not give them a dex # and entry. I don’t buy that excuse.
Playing gen 6, got incredibly lucky and froze someone with Ice Punch on Scrafty. Two dragon dances and Moxie. OOOH BOY! I forgot how much I loved Scrafty
Yeah I never really got back into proper competitive after fairy was introduced. He was always either “fuck every single thing up” or “get fucked up in seconds”. For me. Love him.
Dark/fighting used to be such a good dual stab, then ice punch for those dragons and Landorus. Two dragon dances fucked up a lot of teams. He can still be effective now, but it's a lot harder to pull off since the introduction of fairies. At least he gets poison jab though.
I was running with drain punch as well. After two DD’s and a Moxie each drain punch was refilling the health to a huge degree. I felt bad that it was off the back of a freeze from Ice Punch though.
scrafty was so fun to use. what are your favorite gimmick builds? some that come to mind is sigilyph or the belly drum azumarill, but my favorite might be subpunch breloom and toxic orb gliscor. it’s just so dumb when it works.
I never really messed around with gimmick teams. Wasn’t good enough at them. man the new fossils Pokédex entries are just sad.
The people saying they're boycotting it make me laugh, thinking they'll actually have an impact on sales. Seeing as how literally every Nintendo game released on Switch so far has been very successful, they're going to sell so many copies of these games
I don’t think I’ll buy it. Certainly not day 1. The dex being gutted and the complete and utter lack of post game doesn’t make this seem worth 60 quid.
Seeing the reactions from reddit and serebii is so disheartening. So much hyperbole and fake outrage. I'm sure all of these people cancelling their preorders end up buying the game later.
I’m kind of happy they cut a lot of Pokémon. Gives me a chance to use a ton that I would never use before
I’m going to play the crap out of this. I’m so excited to get to know these new Pokémon and I think the Galar region is going to be one of the best yet.
