Its been revealed that you dont actually need to tackle max raid battles online. You can go at them solo, and the game will give you NPCs to help out, which is super awesome.
Thanks! So yeah basically, if you don’t purchase an online membership you won’t be able to utilize any online feature the game offers. You would still be able to play the full game like any other past Pokémon title but online battles, trading, etc. will not be available for you to use.
Yea, like that makes sense but a lot of the articles were pretty vague on what would or wouldn't be included. Thanks for clearing that up. Bring back link cables lmao
Yeah I was looking into it and other people were confused until a Pokémon spokesperson clarified it. Some people thought they were offering a purchase for the Pokémon online features without paying for the subscription. But it was actually just saying if you try to use them without already having the subscription, it would prompt you with and offer to buy it as an in-game purchase, instead of having to exit the game and go into the store app to buy it.
Yea, a lot of the quotes make it seem like you don't have to have a membership and you can just kind of pay as you go instead but that would be really surprising so I guess that is not correct.
keep trying to tell myself to buy more non-nerd clothes but just had to buy this EDIT: not sure why the pic is sideways
Oh yea, and you can't even transfer most of them right? Last I read they have to be in the game and a lot are not.
Good old nintendo cashing in on the "paying to use the internet on our console" bullshit that every console maker does now.
I mean, you'll only need it for something occasionally. Like, I'm not gonna play other people a whole lot or trade with them and I haven't played since b/w so I got nothing to transfer. My main issue is, let me get a week at a cheaper price rather than have a whole month. That being said, It's still complete bullshit and unnacceptable and why I don't play video games anymore in the first place.
FWIW, the Nintendo online membership is only $20 for the whole year. But yeah I definitely understand that.
Whoops, I thought it was monthly. That's not that bad, still shitty but not as bad as I thought. I'm such a n00b haha
PeacefulOrca, I totally get your thought process. It’s BS how individual games and systems these days can get away with making users pay up to $20 a month because it really adds up. I guess that’s how all these top gamer influencers get the huge sums of money they are paid
