Apparently Hop starts with Wooloo and then gets the weaker starter as his second Pokémon. Which is a nice little spin.

 

And the league champion gets the third starter, so there’s so sad unchosen remainder.

According to reports from the people who have played the games, there are apparently multiple not yet revealed new mons in the first 90 minutes alone, which makes me feel a lot better about how many we will get overall.

 

Yeah. It feels hard to judge where we're at in the totality of new mons and other information.... But I'm super pumped to see what we're getting.

At this point, if the Pokedex leaks a week or two before the release, would you look at it, or just wait it out?
At this point, if they don't announce the start evolution, who are you starting with?

With the caveat that I can change my opinion upon release of the final starter evolutions.

 

Yeah unless one of the other evolutions is absolutely top tier best ever I have to go with my fellow sad boy Sobble.

 

I think I'll probably look. I really enjoy the team-planning aspect of the games, so knowing what's available helps with that.
Right now, I'm leaning toward Sobble or Grookey. I might go with Grookey, just because there's always another water type throughout the game that I like.

I'm going with Grookey.

If a leak of mons happens then I'll try not to look. I don't remember a time when I jumped into a game and allowed myself to be surprised with the new Pokémon. Maybe it was Gold which was 19 years ago and even then I knew of at least half of the new Pokémon due to Japanese cards making their way to malls.

 

I think I like Grookey the most of the 3 but I can hypothesize liking Sobble's potential evos more

And Gold was my first time too including the original games

 

The leaked description of Grookey's final form doesn't sound great, tbh, but I'll get it a shot if I don't see it before the game is released.

Interesting concept for Sobble's final evo

 

I really hope this gen plays with the starter's types. I'd be more than okay if they weren't simply fire/water/grass.
