Oh, I'm not going to boycott the game or anything stupid like that. My "anger" is exaggerated. I just think that GameFreak does some of the most bizarre things and it sometimes feels like they aren't even paying attention.

 

oh i feel you, i can definitely understand how this comes across worse than it is given all of the other poor choices made by gamefreak that almost any fan could have told them was a bad idea. i just look at that ponyta and think psychic makes a good amount of sense, but yeah fairy does also seem like a fitting type for sure.

 

Rapidash isn't gonna have wings is it?

it's a psychic type because middle age mythos suggested that drinking from the horn of a unicorn could cure a person of poisoning

psychic is effective against poison, but poison resists fairy

they emphasized lore over what would otherwise obviously be a fairy type pokemon. hopefully rapidash gets a good secondary type so it has some viability, cause psychic is a useless typing at this point unless paired with something it has synergy with.

I don’t mind Ponyta being Psychic, it fits. But I really hate the design. The proportions are way off and it looks terrible when compared to normal Ponyta

 

Yep. Its crazy how much people have been able to data-mine from demos. I'm also curious to see if it is any more difficult to data-mine Switch games than the 3DS. I doubt it, given that is how we got all of the info on MK11 DLC.

 

But then design the creature better. That's all I'm saying.

 

Despite the unexpected turn from fairy to psychic type for Galarian Ponyta, it's pretty much a given that Galarian Rapidash will grow wings, become a Pegasus, and be psychic/flying type... right?

I honestly have no idea how to feel about the map.

 

If you watch the new gameplay video the starting town seems way bigger than it looks like on the map. So I’m expecting scaling to be off on these maps.

 

I just really want them to do a game with more than one region again

 

Me when I catch a Galarian Ponyta in Shield:

 

im sure theres a lot more wild areas than that, you can see a couple of caves outside of it and the snow area seems to have a trail outside of the town. that just seems to be like a hyrule field type thing

For what it’s worth it was revealed that the size of Sword and Shield is 10.3 GB. For comparison:

ORAS - 1.8 GB
USUM - 3.6 GB
Let’s Go - 4.1 GB
Breath of the Wild - 13.4 GB

 

More than double Let’s Go is a good sign.
