I’d like a solid 5 year break from anything gen 1

 

Gen 1 also has some pretty mediocre Pokemon compared to some of the later entries.

 

Game Freak will always remember and pay tribute to where they came from when it comes to Pokémon. A handful of their most popular Pokémon are also from the first generation. To them it’s their foundation.

Gen V was the last time the games had nothing to do with either Kanto or a good amount of gen 1 Pokémon.

After a few days of letting the reveal settle, I'm still firmly on team Sobble. I just hope its evolutions live up to my hype for it.

 

I'm softly team Sobble right now. So long as its final evolution is water/dragon (a lot of people guess this but I think dragon is too OP for a starter) or water/poison (my personal guess) then I'll be fully on board the Sobble hype train.

 

Yeah I wanna see the full evolution line for these before I commit (since full evo line is what got me to choose Popplio over Rowlet)

 

I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in a starter as I was by the Rowlet line. Rowlet is adorable, Dartrix has beautiful emo hair, and Decidueye is a badass archer. I also loved that they gave Decidueye the ghost typing, something unique for starters. The only issue was that Decidueye got wrecked by anything that knew Bite/Crunch, which was basically every Team Skull trainer. The Snorlax I received as a Munchlax from preordering Moon from GameStop turned out to be more of a starter than Decidueye ever was.
