It’s good to know that Ho-Oh is as difficult to catch as I remember. I haven’t been able to do it for hours. The darn thing just doesn’t want to stay in an ultra ball regardless of its status condition.
This is good. Both gen 6 and 7 were criticized by being too easy. If the difficultly level goes up for the main score games while Let’s Go keep it low then it’s a win-win for both parties. It would be cool if Let’s Go becomes a series for each gen that was released before Switch.
I think that video sold me on the game. I am a sucker and I will pay $60 to play through Kanto again but this time while riding on an Onix.
Things I don't like/get: Why do your Pokemon gain experience from you catching a Pokemon? It's not like it's battle exp or anything. The fact that it's required motion controls, even in handheld mode, really turns me off to this. Did they really have to pull that much from Pokemon Go? Otherwise, I think there's a lot to like in the game. The facial expressions of the characters are really quite something and I think the world looks relatively nice and full. I would love if the upcoming untitled Pokemon game explored the world in a similar way to Detective Pikachu because that's the world I've always envisioned for a Pokemon game and on Switch they could make it even more full and vibrant.
Overall I think the Let's Go games look good enough to bridge the gap until the real Pokemon Switch game releases. If anything, seeing the graphics and what not of these games makes me that much more excited for the core game.
They still participated in a battle (in games since XY) they just didn’t knock the Pokémon out so I can see why they gain XP. They won’t do any battles during wild encounters in this game but GameFreak probably didn’t want to take it out due to many people liking it in previous games.
I think Let’s Go is good to satisfy people who like Kanto. It’s been stated that it was never intended to be a main series game. People are upset because they expected Let’s Go to be a main series game up to the reveal.
I'm not surprised that I can't evolve Eevee because it's just like Pikachu in Yellow, but it's a bummer because it means I won't be using my starter in either version I play.
its so weird that they would give you a pokemon whose main concept is the many possibilities for evolution and not let you evolve it. i was gonna go for eevee but if i really cant evolve it ill go with pikachu i think.
That’s still dumb you should be able to evolve the eevee you get, and also pikachu. Give me that sick alola Raichu on my back.
probably but i'm a dumbshit too and i'm sure there are plenty of other dumbshits in here but we will be the dumbshits with talking pokeballs
I’m considering it so that I don’t have to use a joycon in both handheld and dock mode. I may wait and see how people like the Pokeball Plus.
That may be the only way I get it. The fact that you have to use motion controls in handheld mode really turns me off. The pokeball is nice.
Exactly. I wish they would have made it where you can just spin the analog stick while in handheld mode. Spinning a joycon is reasonable in docked mode because it’s similair to how the remotes have worked with their last two consoles but doing it in handheld mode is a bit much....and goofy.
That's one of the reasons I didn't love Mario Odyssey. They had all the cool moves locked to motion controls and in handheld mode trying to flick your whole console is just annoying. They also just had button clones. B & A did the same thing as did X & Y. I wish Nintendo would offer optional control schemes instead of forcing motion controls down our throats.
