I think that’s what they’re doing. Red and Blue are allegedly in the story but we play as new trainers.
i dislike a lot of the designs for Gen 3 (eon birds especially) i hate Hoenn as a region Gen IV introduced the other dimension stuff like Distortion World which, while linear, feels like the testing ground for Ultra Beasts and all that mystery gift event distribution making event Pokemon more frequent and easier to obtain wifi/online support having exclusively new Mons til postgame
Those are fair arguments. I think this one is incorrect though. Gen 5 was all new pokes until post-game.
Gen 4 is my least favorite. Why did we need evolutions of Tangela, Magmar, Electabuzz, Magneton etc from gen 1? Does have some of my favorites too though lol
Out of gen four I love Piplup, Luxray, Mismagius, Lucario, Froslass, Heatran and thats about it. Lots of underwhelming crap.
i think "lots of underwhelming crap" has been the case since Red/Blue tbh. Grimer never set my world on fire.
The biggest issue I had with that game was that 28/107 pokes were evos or pre-evos from past gens. It felt lazy in the same way the Alolan forms do. Gen V was refreshing because everything was new. Sure, a lot of stuff felt like clones, but there were 156 NEW Pokemon. Gen VII, being an odd number game should have been flush with new pokes, but alas it was not.
For the Gen 4 new evolutions, Electivire, Magmortar, Mismagius, and Yanmega are all pretty BA. I think Gen 4 ends up being pretty middle of the pack for me. The new Pokemon in the gen have grown on me over time, mostly from using them in future generation games.
eh. I doubt it. The type distribution is waaay too unbalanced in Gen 1. They need Dark, Steel, and Fairy to truly balance it out and they need more than 1 dragon line and 1 ghost line (especially one that’s also poison, therefore cancelling out the advantage to psychic)
