I was a bit of a genwunner for a while. I played gen 1 and a bit of gen 2 as a kid, and then I stopped because it wasn't cool anymore. When Pokemon Day came around last year I went to Gamestop and picked up a refurbished 2DS on the cheap so that I could play through Red again. After beating it in about a week I was hooked. In the span of about 6 months I picked up and played through Heart Gold, Alpha Sapphire, and X. I've played through X a few times since, and my opinion about Pokemon has done a total 180. When I was a kid it seemed dumb to me that they would make so many weird Pokemon, but it's those same weird Pokemon that I didn't think fit in back then that I love now.

I'm off work in about an hour, and from there it's right to Gamestop to pick up Moon. I have the next week off of work thanks to Thanksgiving, so I'll have some quality Poke time coming up.

 

I'm considering resetting for a shiny.

 

Are the odds for getting a shiny better for starters than in the wild? If not, you're a madman!

It's 1/4000. I'm probably better off waiting, since I'll have the shiny charm in no time. Can't wait to transfer everyone over.

 

I heard that the resets are longer than XY at almost 3 1/2 minutes. I haven't started yet so I cannot confirm, but that would be an agonizingly long reset.

 

Also Rockruff is so goddamn cute it makes me want to die.

 

Got the game. An hour and a half until work ends. An hour bus ride home. And then we play.

 

I couldn't, that's 12,000 min of soft resetting lmao

 

Got moon. Figured I would get my starter and save since I had to go work and I'd be able to just jump right in tonight when I get out. Saving froze my 3DS and now it won't turn on. Don't have time to mess with it now but hopefully it will be working later

 

I wonder what you can get via fishing. Gonna shiny fish A LOT.

 

Gonna have to go with Rowlet for my starter. I thought all along that I'd get Litten but I'm just not onboard with the giand wrestler cat that he eventually turns into.

Also, ended up getting Sun after initially ordering Moon so I can get that Vulpix and so it'll be nighttime in the game when I play mostly at night.

Can't play until tomorrow because I'm traveling into the city straight after work for a show tonight, but I'm so excited.

 

I just read that, apparently, you can't evolve yourself a Vikavolt until you're on island 4. What kinda stupid horseshit is that? I already hate this game.

 

It's similar to getting Leafeon or Glaceon.

 

Were they ever such necessarily late-game acquisitions though?

How on earth do I get festival coins? I keep talking to people but nothing's happening.

I also cannot register them as VIP for some reason

 

Disappointed I don't get my copy until Sunday. Least its right before the long holiday weekend, so a few days of work and then a lot of pokemon.

 

I've got a lvl. 20 Pichu holding a Soothe Bell that's started every single battle I've had since I caught it at lvl. 6.

Why isn't this little d-bag evolving?

 

So my 3ds worked, that's good news. But my game didn't save so here we go again

 

I'm going to buy Sun today. Really can't wait.
