Tried to grind out the last of the master league tasks for level 43 with the master premiere running, but I hit rank 10 between this and ultra league tasks. I won straight sets a few times below 10 but I just tried one set at 10 and didn’t win a single match. They shouldn’t combine your ranks between leagues.

 

Torn about this. Niantic was really more focused on developing it's AR tech with this game so I'm hoping the sale actually leads to some improvements since Scopely is wanting it to be profitable for them, but at the same time we're probably going to get even more transaction based features. I do think the PVP side of the game should improve since they can take advantage of Go being on the official Pokemon tournament circuit.

 

Definitely not looking forward to any transaction based things going forward.

 

I don't pay for things now and will continue not to. This seems like a bad thing, but at least for me, I am extremely casual player either way so I don't think my style of playing will change

 

Yeah it's going to stink but the company has other free to play games that are pretty popular from what I understand. Just hope it doesn't go overboard, there are already enough as it is.

 

Currently, aside from a supply drop here or there, there is no ads. It can be F2P, with coins being earned by taking over gyms for 8 hours. Hopefully that doesn't change. I hope trading, gifts, etc., aren't limited or cost money to do going forward either.

 

Nick asks a lot of good questions here. Michael’s answers gave me some reassurance but I also appreciate Nick still expresses some skepticism about some things. He touches on Scopely a lot obviously but also digs a little deeper about how things were structured and operated at Niantic.
