I've caught 5 wild Gible and walked my first one far enough to evolve to Garchomp. I am having a hell of a time with Gen 5 so far though, still quite a few unevolved pokemon that I haven't even seen on my nearby yet.

 

HOW?! It has never even appeared on my nearby tracker.

 

Luck maybe? I dunno! My wife and I caught one on a tiny island in Croatia during our honeymoon and it's the one I evolved and will keep forever!

Haha that's great! Yeah some people are luckier than others, like that girl who keeps getting shinies lately and got 5 in 30 minutes yesterday.

 

I haven't gotten a shiny in a while, but I did have that one day where I got 4 full-odds shinies in like, 8 hours, and I wasn't even playing that hard. It was crazzzzy and pure luck

 

Is there a way to increase the odds of encountering a shiny? Because I never have lol

 

My only method is that I click everything that can be shiny, but almost never actually catch anything. Never stop moving if you are in a park, just constantly move around and click everything you can find. On my lunches I just walk to the local park and encounter as much as possible. It's just about odds, the more you click the higher your chances are of encountering. that plus luck

 

That girl got the 4 shiny regionals.

I guess I didn't know they were known to be extremely rare, whoops! What else is supposed to be super rare so I can make people annoyed more?

 

ive caught two Gible and hatched one. luckily i live in a dense Pokemon Go area with a good community, so Gible sightings are always reported in Discord. finding a wild Deino two hours after Gen V dropped was my holy shit moment

 

I caught one Gible first week of June and that’s it

 

I deleted the discord here because people would @all any time they leveled up and shit. It was so annoying.

Got a 100% Deino in a trade with my wife the other night. Wasn’t lucky but it was my first one and that was pretty cool.

did they really change raid day to raid hour?

 

It's always been raid hour. Raid Hour is the event where (almost) all gyms have a legendary raid every Wednesday from 6PM to 7PM. Raid Day is when there is the same Pokemon in every gym for 3 hours. Previous raid days include Suicune, Raikou, Entei, Lapras, Gengar, Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres.

 

Raid hour is booo for me because it’s always when I work. Raid day has been cool because I could always show up to work after it a little late.

 

Yeah I can very rarely do the raid hours.

 

Didn't realize the event ended. I was deleting tasks all morning haha
