That would normally excite me, but then the realization that even if I tried to walk around and track them I would waste 15 minutes batting away pidgey and rattata swarms while silhouettes of the desirable ones remain ever elusive would sink in.

 

Jesus, they really should give us a few hundred balls for everything we had to waste, I blew through like $20 in a week >_>

 

i am 1km away from hatching my 10km egg. pretty excited to have (maybe) a higher level cp pokemon finally. the highest i had for a while was a ~600 something Arcanine (which i named PupFresh) and yesterday i evolved my ~300 Eevee into a 939 Vaporeon which is now my highest/strongest.
i'mma go on a walk rn and see what i can get!

 

I'm going to Europe for 2 weeks and I'm sad that I'll be falling behind.

 

Saw my first Charizard posted up in a gym here today. It was 1500CP.... The worst one in a level 8 gym. Yikes.

 

Got 8 new Pokemon the last two days, skipped level 20 with a Lucky Egg, and got my highest Pokemon to date which is a 1446CP Victreebel. Finally some decent luck.

 

every species of pokemon has a set of base stats. those stats are for CP, HP, and a stat for defense. the base stat represents the minimum their stats will be when you max them out.

what determines their ability to outgrow their base stats are IVs. IVs are a value between 0-15, with 0 being the worst and 15 being the best. a pokemon with 0 IVs in a stat won't outgrow their base stat, while a pokemon with 15 IVs in a stat will have the highest possible stat a pokemon of their species can have(once maxed out).

 

At a certain point, a lot of that stuff doesn't even matter because the gameplay is so clunky that you're just button mashing anyways soooo. I just try to get the highest CP. Oh well.

correction; Vaporeon is 949 and Arcanine is 582.

i hatched my 5k egg for a 185 Horsea. eh, i'll take it, i don't get too many water types round here (which leaves the question of how the hell i'm gonna evolve it)
my 10k egg hatched into a 590 Snorlax (not bad, was hoping for a higher cp)

i also actually managed to take over a gym in the name of team Instinct! which held for maybe 10 minutes, lol
that+adding prestige/a higher cp pokemon to a diff gym is probably the only times i'll hold 2 gyms. everyone around here are higher levels than me

 

Havent logged into this game in days. Niantic is shooting themselves in the foot. Ill probably start back up again soon, as I really want to complete my pokedex, but I no longer care about gyms or the strength of my pokemon.

The alley besides my Walmart always has a random high spawn of a rare Pokemon I don't have. It always runs from me.

 

I'm on vacation right now and have found a little time every day to catch a few. Way slower, but hey maybe you'll have some downtime

I'm not leveling up at all, but there's a fair about of Pokemon here I never see at home

 

Here's a question:

The nearby list obviously shows the Pokemon in a certain order, but I find the first row is inverted on the little box on the main screen. So if the main screen has Squirtle, Pidgey and Meowth (from left to right), once you click it and get the full nearby box, the order becomes Meowth, Pidgey and Squirtle (from left to right).

Why? Which one is right?

 

If it's like it was before, the Pokemon in the top left is the closest to you. It's a weird inconsistency in their design that the list gets reversed when it just shows the three closest. Pretty dumb actually.

I've said it over and over, but I've pretty much never used that thing. The only Pokemon that ever pop up are things that are never even on my nearby list.

 

I legitimately have no idea how I hatched back to back Snorlax eggs this week, but my gym lineup is stout. I'm high level 23 and I live in a rurual area. The grind is real, and if it wasn't for egg hatching, this game would be unbearable where I live. Gotta hatch 'em all, IMO.

 

I like the eggs because you actually feel like you're somewhat in control of the process. I grabbed a Machop and Ponyta out of two today which I have never seen either of. Still had my share of Venonats and lame stuff like that recently too, but at least you get a lot of candy for the stuff you don't want.

eggs are the only way to get something new around here. i live in a small town and i get the same half dozen pokemans every time. gettin a LIL old...

i'm just trying to figure out which to evolve. based on cp/health or their attack strength

 

That's awesome. I have enough candies for mine but I'm just waiting for a better Horsea.

 

Seriously fuck this game. I've seen 4 bulbasaurs and they've all ran away after 2 balls. Same with the 3 charmanders I've seen. Fucking bullshit.

 

i get so few water types it's maddening. even when i'm down at the Marina/Harbor i don't see many. i get a lot fewer wild encounters when i'm out walking too.

 

I don't really understand why they give you the option to sort your Pokemon by HP. It doesn't even work properly, it just sorts them by CP..
