i'm making one assumption, don't blow it out of proportion. and i have a hunch it's an assumption many people would also make. and just like every assumption, there are always exceptions. and i'd love to be entirely wrong, i truly would, but looking at the world around me, prior experiences with gaming/gamergate and reddit, i have a hard time believing i'm anywhere close to being off-base.

 

Not at all - I just believe that people prone to being extremely passionate about means of escaping real life wouldn't exactly throw themselves to the forefront of real life issues, like social justice campaigns, beyond internet-based support if you know what I mean. It's not a massive leap to connect the two IMO (& the reason I make this assumption is because I fall more on the escapism side also - I could and should do better! at the expense of games/tv etc.)

 

Didn't see that you had edited this at first. My friends in Italy didn't know what trivia was, so I explained on the assumption you might be from somewhere in Europe like them. So, my bad. As for where I saw them? At a bar outside Knoxville.

Not that I want to be involved in this discussion in any way...haha. but I think it's worth pointing out that the Reddit threads and social media are filled with complaints because that is actually the best way to be heard by game developers these days. In this case, it just happens to be that it doesn't really work because Niantic doesn't seem to care, but in almost any other case, a developer would see all of those comments and want to make updates. Still doesn't refute the point that people need to get out and do things about real-world issues, but still. They're just doing what would normally work.

 

Fine it's one assumption but it's a particularly shitty and condescending one. You've now argued about this for hours...go out and complain about real world issues instead, your own logic implies that any time spent complaining about anything other than serious issues is a waste of time and energy that could be better directed elsewhere.

What the fuck happened

 

Ever since the update, my phone feels like it's going to explode when I have this open more than 5 minutes. It's an iPhone 6 Plus. This happen to anyone else?

 

happened to me, i thought it was just my charger, guess not haha

 

My 6 gets really hot and the battery drains an insane amount since the update. It dropped 70% in a little over an hour the other day.

 

I haven't noticed the battery drain too much but then again I haven't played as much recently. When I do though I feel like I'm about to start a fire

 

I pray out of at least one of my 10km eggs I hatch today I get another Snorlax or Aerodactyle. I'm begging you Niantic.

Hatched a 1084 Areodactyl a few minutes ago. So stoked.

 

So did they revoke that one couples' Articuno from Ohio that people were making a stink about? How do they even go about doing something like that? Like, do they give them a sweet Dragonite or Charizard in return and say sorry about the mix up, or just say tough shit and take it from them?

 

Everything I've read says they hacked it or used some outside things to make it look like it. It doesn't seem like they should be rewarding them for that.

 

I just figured their acquisition was linked to a glitch or some sort accidental release and not a hack. Seems like there are other instances of this happening. I didn't read much into the Dayton story. Obviously I don't believe they should be rewarded for hacking the game.
