I got a strong Bellsprout, as well. He's at 545CP and I have 123 candies which will be enough to take him through both evolutions. Waiting for that Lucky Egg.

 

OK, what the FUCK is the deal with Eevee evolutions without using the rename trick? I've evolved 4 or 5 now and EVERY SINGLE ONE HAS BEEN A FUCKING JOLTEON . Is this because I'm team instinct and it just evolves the relevant one to your team choice?! Or have I just been shafted? The fact i've never seen a single one of the 3 in the wild means I have little choice without using the name trick

 

I don't understand. Why not just rename them? Is that trick no longer an option?

The rename thing only works until you've collected all 3, then it becomes totally random.

It's at a restaurant/bar on the lake by my house. It's a weekly night where you can compete in teams in a trivia competition to win gift certificates to the restaurant/bar. Pretty common all around America.

 

Idk if that's true.. to me it seems to raise your chances of getting the desired Eeveelution if you rename and don't currently have any renamed already in your roster of Pokemon. So, if you name your Eevee Rainer and you already have an Eevee or Vaporeon named Rainer then it won't work. But if you don't already have one with that name then it simply raises your chance of it working but isn't a guarantee. However, I think that it's guaranteed to work first try with all three Eeveelutions.

 

I'm in the boat where the rename trick hasn't worked for the last three tries.

It worked the first time for each Eevee, of course. My Vaporeon was my weakest of the three, so I tried renaming my Eevees again to get a stronger one (and yes, I even changed the name back to "Vaporeon" for the original one). Out of the next three evolves, I got two Flareons and one Jolteon. So who knows if it actually has any influence. It seems to just be luck after the first three.

I'm at level 20 right now with a maxed out Eevee at 613CP so he should be a beast regardless of what he changes into.

 

A 100 cp Growlithe broke out of my pokeballs three times and ran free even if I had nice throws and berries. Booooo.

 

Just came back from break and a Lapras appeared on my radar fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

 

Hatched a Ratatta and threw my phone in the trash

 

That's weird. The Evee thing worked for me each of the 4 times I've tried it.

 

The only time it didn't work for me is when I had two named (one was Sparky, one was Rainer) at the same time. I think you have to do one at a time, and have the rest just be Eevee and the evolved ones be their names.

 

I have all 3 Eeveelutions and they all have new nicknames. I've evolved 5 Eevees named Sparky in hopes of getting a better Jolteon and I've gotten 4 Vaporeons and a Flareon. So there's that.

 

Think this is your problem. They seemingly need to be named Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon for it to work.

 

you have to clear the nickname after it evolves and then restart the app each time

 

I'm thinking if this is the case, then maybe there's a chance one of my Eevees was named "Jolteon", "Flareon" or "Vaporeon" (instead of the nickname bar erasing to blank and defaulting back to the real Pokemon names). Could have thrown off every new one I got.

 

Answer me this: Should I drive 45 minutes to a known Pikachu nest, OR an hour and a half to a known Charmander nest? Decisions, decisions..

 

Neither!! Good lord that's a far drive for a game! Especially since it doesn't ever seem like there's a guarantee they'll be there, haha.

 

Which one do you want the app to crash at?

You're basically guaranteed a Raichu at a big Pikachu nest with an extra 45 minutes. Charizard takes more and you'll have less time.
