I think I've only seen Farfetch'd because someone had one in a gym in Atlanta when I was down there a couple of days.

 

I think I've seen all gen1 regionals as leaders of gyms before, so I made sure NOT to tap on said gyms so I avoided the pokedex entry. Never seen even a hint of Corsola & Heracross though.

 

Corsola and Heracross are the only ones I've seen in gyms. I'm barely too far north to catch either.

 

It's weird that North America has it's own regional but you can still catch 2 other regionals in certain parts of North America. They should limit it to countries; Heracross only in South American countries and Corsola only in Central America/Carribean or something.

Also I just powered up my Tyranitar to 2955cp!!! Now my best pokemon!

 

We used to have Tauros in Canada but not anymore since gen 2 was released. We should get something else to make up for it.

 

My dex is 233/233 because I am scared to click gyms and see a Khangaskhan, Mime or Farfetched.

 

I've seen Khangaskhan, Mr. Mime, and Heracross but I kind of like having them as seen. More the merrier.

 

Raids are available to players level 31 and up. I saw a raid taking place near me and I can buy raid passes now.

Just found the map feature for gyms which is something I've always wanted. There's quite a few things about this update that I really like.

My main draw for gyms was coins and stardust. I've gotten 46 coins so far from 7 gyms. I'll wait to see how it goes, but I have a hard time imagining liking this as much as the previous iteration. You still cap at 100 coins a day.

4 stars (yellow egg) - Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Alakazam, Jolteon, Lapras, Snorlax, Tyranitar
5 stars (dark egg) - legendaries only

It's being reported that the coins received for having Pokémon in gyms has been raised to as much as 5 per hour.

 

Ah cool. Just wanted to make sure there was even any reason to open the app down there. I might be on the lookout then!

 

This is much better. Should have a huge pay day when my Ursaring is knocked out. Almost 20 hours now.

 

maybe Heracross too, I don't truly know. I think there is a map somewhere of the reigons

 

I missed the gyms are live memo and a bunch of level 15s went around and put sub-1000cp pokes in all my local gyms. Waiting for them all to bow out will be fun.

 

What happens when you fill up the bar at a gym?

 

Just go battle them! That should only take 1-3 rounds and it is genuinely more fun to battle gyms now. Just went back into town and Valor took back 4 gyms from the dominant Mystic team who has run shit since day one around here.

 

Valor has always run everything around here and I claimed a few gyms yesterday and today for Mystic, was pretty fun. One of mine is at 19 hours now and has yet to be damaged, can't wait to see the payout.

 

They've changed it to 1 coin per 10 minutes.

Evidently there's a cap of 50 coins a day though.

It was rare for me to have more than 5 gyms held with the old system. Getting closer to liking this.

I thought you got them when you got kicked out now? I'm not sure I understand any of the new update because I haven't even played yet.

They're all on my team. I took a gym for my team today, but otherwise, it's a waiting game, haha.

 

Keeping gyms from Mystic is unbelievably difficult in the main part of town for me. Had 5, but two players continuously kept going back to the same two and taking them from me. Then they stick 3000+ cp Blisseys and Tyranitars in. I can't even keep my Pokémon revived because niantic nerfed the potions from pokestops.

Edit: Also, looks like Raids are now available for me and I'm level 30. I got a raid pass, but none have shown up. I'm curious, what does it take for the raid to show up in the Raid Tab? Does the gym have to be on your map within sight? Or will it tell you for gyms you have badges from? Maybe just gyms nearby in general?
