Gyms are live!

 

Interested to see if my Pokémon Go Plus will work with gyms the same way it does with pokestops.

 

Whelp. Gonna fill up on gas. Gonna be driving around all night, I guess.

Hmm not a bad idea! Empty gyms everywhere! I think I'll do the same.

 

How do you get coins from gyms now?

Edit: According to Reddit, when your mon gets knocked out of a gym, you get an amount of coins depending on how long it was in there.

Also, I spun the photo disc at a gym after putting one of my mons in there and got a "team bonus". Not sure what that means though.

There's 3 empty gyms within 90seconds walking distance of me but it's 9pm & I cba to go out & fill them

 

You get 20 stardust when you give your Poke in a gym a berry.

 

Got 4 Mon in gyms rn

 

I managed to grab the last spot in 3 nearby gyms. They are filling up FAST.

They launched this at peak traffic time on the east coast so its impossible to really get anywhere. At least where I live. Hopefully I can find some more spots in a couple of hours.

 

Geeze that's so disappointingly low.

So much for 500 Stardust per mon like it used to be.

That's just for giving a berry. You might still get some when your Pokemon gets knocked out of a gym.

 

Did you get any coins/stardust?

Also, can you participate in raids yet or is that stilll not available?

 

Raids aren't rolling out till early July it seems.

People on Reddit are theorizing that you get 1 coin per hour that your Pokemon is in a gym.

Also, feeding Pokemon in your team's gym sometimes will give you 1 candy for that Pokemon.

 

Lmao it looks like I got one coin so far, maybe you get one coin per hour?

 

I just hatched my first baby Pokemon haha

 

As someone who has become just happy to get my 10 coins a day real quick, this displeases me greatly

 

By the time I got off work and out of the gym (real life gym) all the guys were full except one that only had 1 pokemon in it. Had to beat it 5 times though to knock it out... what's up with that?

...annnnnnd it's knocked out before I could even get home. 0 coins for me. This is fucked.


EDIT: reports that you can get candy by feeding other people's pokemon in your gym.

 

Lost one of my Pokemon after a little over an hour. 1 coin.

 

I guess things will settle down after a week or two and people might be able to hold gyms overnight again and actually get more than just the old 10 candies out of a gym. Right now it's a struggle though lol.

 

I found a couple of gyms.



I'm in 15 right now. We'll see how long that lasts. I wonder if the 10 gym cap with coins applies to the new system.
I also hatched my first Aerodactyl and actually interacted with other players for the first time in like 9 months. Productive evening.
