I got one the first day and haven't seen one since.

Has magmar been part of this event? I've seen one. Not that I need any but I figured that would be one

I'm right there with you. Except I live in Florida and see them all the time. I've probably caught at least 200-300 since then and nothing. I've seen 3 or 4 red ones in gyms and it infuriates me. I'm a brat.

Edit: just looked and I caught enough to have around 600 candies.

Since the event started, not one has shown up in a spot he almost regularly spawns in. So no, I don't think so.

I meant the water event that launched the shiny Magikarp, sorry.

Ya it's weird like that. It probably increases the overall chances of Pokemon appearing world wide but if you already had a lot of something you might actually see less during the event. Sneasel for example are like pidgey for me but during the event they are pretty rare event though they are technically supposed to be for frequent.

I wonder what time gyms are going down on Monday. I have another 12 hours until my next defender bonus.

Every fire pokemon I've caught this event has been fucking garbage as far as IV's go. Must've caught 25-30 each of Cyndaquil, Charmander and Houndour and got nothing above 70% or so.

Just claimed my final defender bonus before gyms go down. Gonna be interesting to see what we get after the downtime

These changes actually seem cool as hell. However, I'm worried that raid boss battles will not work too well in rural areas like mine where there are very few regular players left :tear:

    This is the best part:

The Raid Battle system even has public and private lobbies, so friends who have happened upon a Raid Battle together can work side-by-side, no random trainers allowed. After defeating the Pokémon — still with the usual screen-tapping — players have the chance to actually capture it, adding a high-leveled monster to their team. (They’ll also get a bunch of items, including some mysterious new TM items that Niantic declined to tell us anything about.)

New Items: After defeating a Raid Boss, you’ll receive a collection of rewards, including some new items obtained only by defeating a Raid Boss: Rare Candies, Golden Razz Berries, and two types of Technical Machines—Fast and Charged. A Rare Candy is a mysterious candy that, when used on a Pokémon, turns into that Pokémon’s Candy. Golden Razz Berries will greatly increase your chances of catching a Pokémon you encounter in the wild and can also be given to a Pokémon assigned to a Gym to fully recover its motivation meter. Technical Machines are items you can use to permanently teach a Pokémon a new Fast Attack or Charged Attack.

    So awesome

So much stuff that I'm confused.

Only six gym spots now means it will be that much harder to get in.

Good. Maybe the local cliques who have over 100 pokes in gyms will let the rest of us grab some coins now.

I mostly agree, I just still want to be able to collect my 30 or 40 coins a day

Yeah. I've never had more than two last longer than a day together.

I'm pretty excited about the unique Pokémon rule. Should make battling less monotonous than: Blissey, Rhydon, Vaporeon, Gyarados, Blissey, Dragonite, Dragonite, Snorlax, Tyranitar, Dragonite.

You just named the line up of every gym in town. haha. But yeah, I'm curious about this whole update. I wish I knew more people personally who still played so I could check out some of the group features.

But there's only 6 per gym now so it will probably still be the same group of Pokemon.

  24. Garrett

i tore a hole in the fabric of time Moderator

Probably. But only fighting one Blissey will be so much nicer, haha.

It would be super helpful for variety if Flareon and Jolteon had the same HP as Vaporeon. They're two of my stronger pokes but never last in the gyms.

So you have the opportunity to catch the raid boss if you beat it? This could make catching rare Pokemon so much easy. Provided beating raid bosses is actually feasible.
