I've somehow had a SNORLAX in a gym for almost 2 months now. It's a gym on the other side of the city too. I went by the other day and saw that it has fallen to the last spot... so I expect him back any day now. But I guess the gym rework is happening soon anyways.

 

Jesus you guys are lucky. Mystic annihilates anyone that takes the gyms around here within a day almost always. It's kind of ridiculous to be honest.

 

I guess I should go stock up on Pokeballs for this event. I've currently got 7, 1, and 1.

 

Gyms are pretty useless for me. I was never really into them to begin with but like my local gym is level 10. The lowest CP is a Rhydon at 2950 and each of the players are at least level 35. It's impossible to get past something like that so I don't even try anymore at all. I would love for them to find a way to even it out

 

It used to be like that until a few months ago. I literally never see Mystic gyms anymore, but it's partially because there are a handful of major players around here that are on the two other teams. They are at level 40 and are in almost every gym.

The crazy thing? These are real people and not spoofers. They post in the local Facebook group all of the time and have met a lot of other players in real life. One guy posted about how he was close to evolving a 100% IV of every Pokemon. Like...come on.

 

Yeah, there's a level 39 guy here in Knoxville who had 296 pokes in gyms a few weeks ago. Max coins you get per day is for 10. Seems obsessive and a little rude for the rest of us.

 

100% IV of every Pokemon? That's bullshit.

 

That's his goal, at least. This is the guy who posted a long rant about how it was bullshit that they nerfed Lapras a while back because he had walked his over 500K to max his out...

He must spend at least 8 hours a day playing. And I can't even make fun of him because he apparently met his girlfriend while playing.....the girl is also level 40. Not even making this up.

 

Oh yeah we have a few of those people who are avid players. For the longest, someone named "BosleyDogs" with some numbers at the end had a high CP Snorlax in every single gym. We talked about how it's probably some kid spoofing who doesn't do anything else with his time but play this.

Me and a friend of mine are in the local park which is the lure spot and there was a small group of other players there. This one mid-40's woman who is always constantly walking around town and is kind of off her rocker (trust me, you'd have to talk to her to understand) starts talking about how someone finally knocked her out of a gym... and of course the revelation happens for both of us that it's her. She is a known local for going out in the bars, getting drunk, and trying to take home younger men, as well as somebody who I have seen screaming at city visitors (My hometown is a getaway location for NYC people).

 

This game has lost me almost 100% at this point. The next event, I only need one Houndoor and I'm done with everything I need. Meh.

 

I just need two more and I'm done again

I think it started half an hour ago judging by my friend catching six Swinubs in five minutes after never having seen one.

Same... I regret those long hours spent going to and staying at the Cyndaquil nest in my city... Got enough of them in an hour tonight.

Houndour seem to be the rarest of the fire spawns still. Even saw a Flareon.

 

Caught a 1400CP Lapras with one shot of a regular pokeball I threw as a joke.

 

Just seeing the usual swarm of houndour and ponyta. That's nothing different here. Did get some swinub and also have seen a bunch of chikorita some how. I'll take that!

 

Saw a Lapras but didn't bother to go get it. 2 more Houndour and I'm done with the event.... These events feel really cheap.

 

Took less that 30mins for me to get the Houndour candies I needed, but gonna wait to catch a good IV one to evolve for 229/229. Plus hatched a Mareep from a 10k (only my 3rd ever Mareep hatch) to take me from 59 candies to 81, saving me 100km of walking! Pretty good day already.

 

Loving this event so far. Had 32 Cyndaquil candy yesterday. 64 today.

 

100 Cyndaquil candies in one day!!! Watch me evolve another Typhlosion with fucking solar beam...

 

You can surprise those Rhydons and Vaporeons at least.
