They're kinda going overboard with these type-specific events imo but I still dig it

Those are the only ones I'll probably grab during that event. Though I'm not going to lie, I saw a Houndoom at a Pokestop a couple of months ago but was too lazy to go get him...

 

Thought this was pretty funny. Saw a random Rapidash last night at the bank behind my house where they happen to have these metal horse "sculptures".

 

Anyone else notice Pokestop changes? A Diner near my job is now one next to three others already in the park, so they're all within like 15ft of each other now. Pretty awesome.

 

There was a Spring a couple of blocks from my place that went out of business, and when the store left the Pokestop disappeared. I think that Pokestops are updated somewhat regularly.

 

I noticed that too. Actually in the post of mine right before yours, they even updated that metal horse Pokestop picture from even a few days ago.

 

Yeah a fire station by my house used to be one but after a few months they were no longer a stop.

 

I have 144 Gligar candies.

Finally hatched my first Tyrogue. And it even has HP as the best stat!!!! But I'll still 10 candies short.....

What are the odds you have to go to that damn Chicago festival in order to get one/some/all of the legendaries?

 

Localized events for this game are a bad idea considering how much of the criticism is focused on the urban vs. rural variance in play-ability.

 

I don't disagree with that, but that still doesn't mean they won't do it. haha. The reason I ask is because in that original trailer they had back in the day, it showed everyone meeting up in Times Square fighting MewTwo. It just gave the impression that eventually there would be specific events/location you had to be at to catch certain things.

Now they're talking about doing an entire festival which makes me wonder what that will even entail. Are they just going to charge people to stand in a group and collectively catch Ratattas?

 

Yeah. I wasn't very clear. I was adding to your point that the Chicago event will likely be a mess. Charging for attendance to the event is even more galling.

 

I think that event will be very different to the day-to-day grind that we experience (plus there will be lots of other shit there to keep people occupied like foodstands & hopefully booze lol), like incentives/prizes, increased rares and maybe legendaries or p2p battles or something. They gotta if they're charging entry - I can't see them going through the effort of putting on a mini festival without doing the above imo.

 

Oh, yeah, I figured that's what you were getting at. haha. But yeah, I just don't know what they could possibly offer at a festival centered around an app that isn't an in-game exclusive or increased spawns of some kind. Hopefully that means they are really planning some awesome updates for the game.
