Just saw and caught my first Sneasel, putting me at 228 caught/229 seen (damn Mr. Mime). I am currently at 82 Mareep candies, so I hope this event can get me my Ampharos. That would leave Omastar, Sunflora, Unown, and Hitmontop to complete the Pokedex of what is available without travelling.

Thankfully, my seven day spin this morning gave me my third dragon scale. Couple this with the random king's rock I got on Tuesday and that missing sun stone gets that much more annoying.

 

Still sitting at 225/225 making (very) slow progress towards my Typhlosion and Croconaw/Feraligatr - will get them during this upcoming event though which will put me at 228 also, needing Flaaffy, Ampharos, Miltank and Unown to complete the available dex. I will absolutely, 100% not be getting an Unown though, I can just tell...

 

210/220. Between getting a new evolution item and the event starting today, I'm back on good terms with this game, haha. Hope to finally get an Aerodactyl.

What time does it start? Typical 2-3pm est?

 

It's usually 4pm EST/1pm WST.

 

So, if you walk 1km you get one candy with your buddy when the event starts right?

 

it's 1/4 the normal distance.
So depending on how many kilometers it takes to find a candy (1, 3, or 5), you'd just divide it by 4.
Pretty sick.

 

Looks like this event will get me walking like crazy. Need 23 candies for a Blissey and 40 for porygon2

I truly have no idea what to walk. I am thinking Dragonair, but there's quite a few that I could walk and have available to evolve within a day. Niantic, thank you and eff you for stepping up your game.

 

Weird question, not sure if anyone knows.

Let's say I am 2.9/3km on my Togepi and the event starts. Does my progress bar change to something like 0.6/0.75 or do I retain that distance and automatically gain 3 candies?

Has it started for anyone yet? It was supposed to start 4pm EST but I checked and there are no rock types in sight.

 

Same here. Very close to Blastoise, Golem, Alakazam, and Machamp.

 

Yeah I just hit a pokestop and got the normal amount of items. Don't think it's started yet.

 

Some guy supposed to hit the on switch but he's asleep at his desk.

 

Are item increases a thing as well for this event?
Edit: Answered my own question via google. This is awesome. These events will absolutely keep this game afloat.

 

Event is live, just caught a Slugma and have a Geodude and an Onix on my sightings. Pretty pumped, I just barely have a Golem and just recently got my first Onix. I play this game so much more during events.

It means the person is online. Anyone who has the green triangle at the top-left is signed in at that moment.

 

Got three candies from Chansey when I opened the app up. Made my day

 

Just caught an aerodactly. Guess it started.

Buddy distance changed to -1.3/5. Wtf

 

You should've gotten 3. I did for my Dragonair who was at 3.8k.
