Yeah I really have no choice anyway. Finally getting into frigid temps in NJ and snowing today as well.

 

How do you guys make yourself keep playing this when there's nothing left to catch? I could catch a couple more Grimer and Geodudes and still need a bunch of Dratinis, I guess. Other than that, this game is primarily just walking to discard 5k eggs. It's pretty boring.

I didn't turn the game on on the bus today on the commute to work for the first time in a long time. All I could think about was the Dragonites that were almost definitely spawned where the pidgey usually are. :(

 

Well now that I've caught everything and even completed all the potential candies we'd need for cross-gen evolutions. I literally have nothing to play for until Gen 2. The second I caught that Elekid, it felt weird haha. Really hoping they release the Mews and Legendaries soon. Or I have a really long wait until most likely summer for Gen 2.

 

They decided to release all the legendaries but only for you and only along your bus route. You missed it, bud!

 

I don't think the game is boring. The algorithm makes sense based on players/population. Unfortunately I just don't live in a huge city so all the things I need i'm not seeing, and it's winter so i'm not looking. Perhaps when niantic does another campaign i'll be back at it. 1 candy away from Magneton, so i'll hit 131 by the end of the week if I remember to take the app out lol.

 

It's not inherently boring, but depending on where you live, you hit a wall where the game is nothing besides walking with the app open in your pocket. All I've been doing is walking my Grimer and discarding 5k eggs.

 

it's not so bad, dont have to actively engage and get dissapointed by common pokemon

just need 21 more dratini candies, also got a 10k in the oven that'll probably be another Scyther or something instead of dratini but hey I can dream

 

I'm in to 100+ candies on THIRTY FUCKING SIX different top-tier evolved pokemon now: Vileplume, Poliwrath, Kingler, Hypno, Victreebel, Gengar, Sandslash, Arcanine, Exeggutor, Golem, Clefable, Mr Mime, Electabuzz, Slowbro, Nidoqueen, Alakazam, Seadra, Starmie, Rapidash, Cloyster, Arbok, Tentacruel, Golduck, Electrode, Marowak, Seaking, Wigglytuff, Parasect, Persian, Butterfree, Beedrill, Pidgeot, Fearow, Dugtrio, the Eevee evolutions and Gyarados.

Sorry to list them all like that I'm just bored at work

 

How's the stardust though?

 

only 96k atm - had a lot more but I used loads to boost my Onix from 200cp to 700+cp.

 

The thing that keeps me going is stardust, pure and simple. I like to max out cp on as many fully evolved Pokemon as I am able.

I also still find gym battles entertaining in moderation.

 

Worked in NYC today. And surprisingly didn't get that many great catches. I did manage to finally get my 1500cp+ Magneton though.

 

Caught a wild Gyarados 2320cp on my daily walk just now!!! Transferred it immediately as I already had a better cp one with the same moveset, putting me over 500 magikarp candies. Also hatched an Elekid from one of my 10km eggs! Fingers crossed for Magby from the other one I have incubating.

Got my Venusaur. It's also trash. I still need 31 candies for a Blastoise

 

$500 million of that was me trying to bribe them into including a 'discard egg' feature...

 

Has anyone else noticed that the app no longer mutes your music when opened?

Also, finally got Machamp. Now I just need Omastar and Kabutops for the Gen 1 obtainable pokedex.

 

Noticed that yesterday as well. But I wasn't sure if it was because I already had the game open and hit play in Notification Center

I've seen one Geodude in the last month and just caught a Graveler...at my house. This game is weird sometimes.

 

Caught a wild Onix yesterday out of nowhere and just hatched an elekid. Go figure. Haven't had anything new in forever in this game.
