Still really loving this game although not playing it as often.

I just counted and I could potentially have had 100 Pokemon in my pokedex through evolutions but I've been saving my candy.

 

Level 27. 137/137 now. I just officially evolved my Gengar today because I got my last Ghastly I needed to evolve up my 95% Ghastly. I have my 2nd Dragonite chilling ready to be evolved from a 96% Dratini (Attack / Defense 14 and Endurance 13) and it's going to be a beast. I have it at 681 CP and still have probably 20 powerups left on his bar there. I'm really hoping he doesn't evolve with shitty moves otherwise I've wasted so much time on him.

 

For being a level 22 with 116 pokedex, my low CP pokemon would astonish all you haha

 

I wonder if you would be able to trade with people far away or if you have to be within a certain distance of someone, whenever that starts. I don't know with the internet I could see people being a little too resourceful with that lol

 

Word is that trading will be facilitated through bluetooth so I think you'll need to be nearby the person you're trading with.

 

If that's the case I think I'm done playing. Was mainly playing to collect and the thought of there being stuff I can't get without traveling the world kinda ends it. Was hoping trading would fix that but it doesn't look that way.

 

From a business perspective, that makes sense. If you can trade with anyone in any country, that kind of defeats the purpose of having region-specific pokemon in the first place. Still, I'm sad knowing I'll probably never have a Kangaskhan.

 

Level 21 with 86/86. Pretty close on Persian, Arbok, Nidoqueen, Nidoking, Poliwhirl, Victreebell, and Exeggutor. The one random aspect of my experience is that downtown Cleveland is a Clefairy kingdom. Is that supposed to be CLEfairy? Is that what I'm supposed to be gathering here? I'm already on two Clefables. haha

I'm 3 ghastly/haunter away from finally having my Gengar.

I don't know why people are saying they're giving up playing because they can't get to 100 candies or aren't seeing enough new Pokemon. That elongates the game for you...makes it more worthwhile and requires a bit of effort. Did you think Niantic worked on this game for that long to hand over all the Pokemon with ease and have everyone stop playing within a few weeks?

they nerfed potions. they used to be too abundant, then they went too far in the other direction.

Personally, I was never about giving up the game because I'll never get a Charizard. My standpoint was that I was going to lose interest long before I ever got there because I've never even seen ONE Charmander for the entirety of my playing. So yeah, it's not realistic in the slightest. That's wildly different than immediately quitting the game because it takes too much work.

 

I nerd'd out and made myself an excel grid for all the pokemon I still need (35 including the 9 outside America) and made columns for Candy Needed to Evolve, Candy I Have, How Many I Need To Catch, and notes section where I've looked up where some nests nearby could be. I am going to catch em all, you watch me.

 

I have to catch a maximum of 297 pokemon to fill my pokedex

 

tfw when you're grinding towards a victrebell and accidently evolve one of your Bellsprouts

 

It's not a matter of giving up because it'll take longer it's a matter of giving up because there are Pokemon that I've never seen/never will see so how am I going to catch enough of them to get 100 candies?

 

My girlfriend and I have a pretty good system for hunting that we used to get a Victoribell and a Porygon the last couple days. She keeps her app open while I drive us somewhere, if a silhouette pops up that we need, she directs my driving to cover the immediate area around where she spotted it, system works pretty well!

I think there's a difference between having the Pokemon handed over and not making you travel across the world to collect them all. Regardless I think it's a good game, I just can't really ever accomplish what I want to given the circumstances.

 

we made it

evolved it today as part of a lucky egg spree along with everything else I'd been saving for weeks, finally hit 24

 

I think once they add more Pokemon, it will make the game a lot funner. It will add a much needed variety to each region. As of right now, I feel like everyone has already caught pretty much everything they have available to them. Even if they open up a local trading feature, there's maybe like 10 Pokemon I'd need. That's not enough incentive to keep people grinding. But with a few more generations added to the game, trading locally could be a lot more interesting.
