I got my steel type from battling a Team Rocket grunt and catching a Beldum.

 

Also if anyone is really desperate, the Pokémon encounter reward on the battle league is guaranteed to be metagross if you’re rank 1. The premium battle pass gives you an encounter with only one win.

 

I tried that for a while, and I literally got every Unova starter.

 

Had you already played battle league for this season before you tried to get metagross for this event? it’s only guaranteed for your first set in great league I think.

 

I got a Skarmory from a magnetic lure. But I got a Gibble first? So... that was decent.

I started checking the pvp IVs of Pokémon to weed out the best ones to power up to 1500/2500 and I’ve won the last 3 battles I did. Coincidence?

the real joy tho was catching my first Reshiram and freeing up so much bag space by pouring rare candies into it

 

I forgot about the spotlight hour until there was like 15 minutes left so I got no shinies

 

totally forgot its today, i'm probably not gonna be able to try but i'll at least open my phone a time or two

 

also bummed there is a new legendary that i probably have no chance to get, 5 stars are just impossible right now
