I'm about to give it a shot as well. Luckily I have 2 shiny already, so I don't NEED one... but it would be nice. But again, shiny rate should be increased, even just a little

 

I actually caught a shiny Shellder this morning. Forgot it was Spotlight Hour tonight.

 

260 encounters, none shiny

 

Boo didn’t know about that. Although I have one from when they first came around. With a whopping CP10

 

I didn’t get any shinies out of the Kanto research. It took 10 balls or so to catch mewtwo but it didn’t deduct them from the amount of balls I had. Weird.

Kanto event has blessed me with shiny drowzee, ekans, and both nidorans but i still remain eluded by shellder.

But for real that's waaaaaaaaaay better than being reliant on gyms even if that does make gyms slightly redundant now

 

Yeah I mean i stopped expecting niantic to do right by it's users a long time ago but a potential 35 extra coins per week does seem better than nothing lol

Completing ten tasks for five total coins? That's weak. Especially if one is an excellent throw task. I'm reading on twitter that if you don't complete all 10...

 

Finally got my first Altered Form Giratina from the comfort of my automobile.

 

Just completed the 5 great curveball throws in a row research without that much difficulty - feeling like a real Pokémon master

 

So... my buddy Pokemon just threw a Pokeball for me after the Pokemon at which I threw it knocked it away. Is this a new thing in the game, or have I just never noticed it?

 

It's one of those buddy perks, I think it was called catch assist something like that.

 

That Pokecoin update seems like crap. You get 5 free coins, but you still depend on gyms for the other 50 coins. BUT WAIT, you get 2 coins per hour instead of 6 per hour, so you have to get 25 hours of total gym defending per day instead of 8...

Oh they already are. This is the only place I've seen people call this change good.

 

Reddit is a cesspool. They are testing a new feature in one region with no indication at all that the test system is what they will roll out live.

 

I mean, if this is what they are testing, it must be what they plan to roll out. If people don't tell them that making it 3 times longer to earn coins in gyms is a crappy idea, then they'll just roll it out that way.

 

I don't think that's an obvious leap to make. Testing is called testing for a reason. Let them test a feature and then when it rolls out wide, critique it then. There's no indication that when the feature goes live, that 5 coins is the cap per day for non-gym things.

 

Johto research is up early by accident it seems, but warning to wait until the event starts to do it, Dunsparse is one of the rewards and will be able to be shiny after the event starts

 

Welp. I wish I had read that before beginning the task today and getting my Dunsparse encounter.

anyway, I am sure dunsparse are gonna be everywhere starting tomorrow much like venonat right now, so it's just one missed encounter overall
