haven't finished the research yet but i think Mewtwo is the last encounter i have that can be shiny and none yet. that's totally fine- they really nailed this. i want more of this. it doesn't always need a legendary at the end either. more fun, smaller, themed special researches would keep me much more engaged. every game is better when you have something to tangibly progress.

 

Got a shiny Pidgey during an incense I popped while watching some bobs burgers. That was a nice little surprise as weird as that sounds

I finished the Kanto research yesterday and ended up with a regular Mewtwo with so-so stats, and I was a bit bummed.

I ended up staying up past midnight last night and got my 7 day research, which turned out to be a shiny Shinx. I’ll gladly take the shiny Shinx over another shiny Mewtwo.

I'm really hoping for a shiny Ho-Oh or Groudon in the next weeks.

 

I have a bunch of shiny Groudon. I'm hoping gen three gives us shiny Deoxys.

Shiny Deoxys could pop up in the summer like Mewtwo did, although who knows what their plans are for the summer at the moment

 

i believe the reward for the Hoenn throwback research this month is Groudon and assuming there is a shiny chance

 

i think they've done a really good job for the most part in adapting to the state of the world and making things much easier to do from home, giving out weekly 1 coin boxes, longer incense, etc. - i assume the summer plans they might have had will be scrapped or at least significantly altered, i would anticipate a lot more things like the may event, to sort of fill the void until a lot of this passes.

 

ho oh and groudon are disappointing only because of how goddamn frequently they were brought back in raids and made research breakthrough rewards, but, they went overkill on all the legendaries from jhoto and hoenn so i dont see being entertained by any selection from those two groups. Sinnoh would have been cool to bring back dialga or palkia.
