yeah i got the grass too. maybe it isnt the actual new tracker if all of us got it and it doesnt work.

 

the redditz people figured it out but it's basically the same as before just new name.

 

Ok, well that sounds slightly better?? Previously pokemon would get stuck on the list even when far away, I think this is better overall...

 

Damn, just caught a 1223 Exeggutor in my apartment. By far the strongest one I have.

 

Supposedly if it detects you are going to fast it asks you to confirm you a passenger and not driving now?

 

Is Snorlax really that rare?

I just wanted to comment on this new update. I went out for a quick drive tonight to try to hatch a couple eggs and ended up being really impressed with the new tracker. I was going slowly down one street and it showed a nidoran male and rattata under Sightings. First, I didn't see much, and ran into a weedle and pidgey that weren't on the tracker. It also showed a Poliwag which disappeared once I got to the end of the road. I then pulled a U-ey and voila...a nidoran male appears. Ten seconds later, a rattata, but no Poliwag on the tracker yet. I do a couple more turns and then the Poliwag shows up on the tracker (nothing else is on the tracker) and a few seconds later on my screen. And all the Pokemon mentioned were caught. I'm starting to restore faith.

Edit: keeps happening! I like it. Also I threw a ball so far it flew off screen for three seconds and landed on the edge of the forest in the background. That was strange.

 

Before I updated today I walked all day long and my eggs did not move. Anxious to see if that's fixed now

Is it kinda like a built-in Pokevision then? I hate to be "that guy" (this time, at least), but i'm 50/50 on this - the fact it pinpoints the exact location of the pokemon surely takes away from the hunting aspect of the game, doesn't it?

Edit: someone in that Reddit thread had faked a tracker based on the compass pointing you in the right direction of nearby pokemon, which is exactly the sort of this I'd personally want from the game. Not complaining, just stating a preference!!!

 

The original beta of the game had exact distance to nearby Pokemon displayed, it's also not showing you where Pokemon are anywhere in the world like pokevision

 

If the new tracker is pokestop based, that will again be unfair to those of us outside of the city, or in any areas without a lot of stops :P

 

That makes this more fun, the hunting aspect is walking to find something, not walking aimlessly hoping you bump into something.

 

Mine shows grass now. I don't have many stops near me, so I guess that's why I see nothing.

 

It definitely screws over rural players, but it's a step in the right direction. The indication on reddit seems to indicate this is being tested in San Francisco for the time being.

Not sure if this has been discussed on here but I ran into a buddy of mine last night and he showed me his pokemon go screen which featured an analog pad to move while he was sitting down and the option to move to walk, bike, or drive speed. Hacked that shit up. I wasnt sure how to feel about it. Anyone else see this yet?

 

I can't even imagine putting that much effort into being that lazy.

Fair enough. It's just, if I want to sit down on my couch and play Pokemon, I've got a 3DS and main series Pokemon titles with a much more robust feature set. Not everyone does though, so I get it on some level.

I hatched a Chansey and a Lapras last night, at 115 caught.

 

Yeah I just bought Pokemon Y last week for my lazy Pokemon needs. I love it. Love how this phone app got me totally back into this world.

 

Still feels like I will be mostly wandering around aimlessly where I live and on all the trails I run/bike on, but oh well. I think I've about hit a wall with this game anyways because it doesn't seem like I'm going to make it past 83 Pokemon caught. None of the places I go have any diversity in the Pokemon, and the eggs mess up so much that it literally took me 20 miles to hatch a 6.2 mile egg. Unless there's something drastic, I'm just pretty much out of luck. haha.

 

I was feeling jaded with the game 2 days ago, then got 7 new pokedex entries in one day and am loving it again! I've had a much wider variety appearing this past week too - caught 1 Grimer yesterday now 2 or 3 more sightings since for example. Seeing more wild pokemon over 1000cp too so i'm happier with it atm. Of course, today is the day my work colleagues (all over 30) are teasing me about playing it though
