Caught a vaporeon and jolteon in the wild, but other than that so far this event isn’t spawning anything good. There aren’t even any Pikachu or Eevee near me right now lol

Would be cool if one day Pokémon go cares about how frigid it is during their events

 

Not everyone lives in places it is cold

 

So people in warm places should have an advantage? That's why I'm starting to hate this game, it clearly favors certain groups of people while giving less of a shit about others

 

Yeah, that's kind of how I feel, but during the opposite season. I live in Florida and during the Fall, Winter, Spring it's absolutely fine to go outside (I think the coldest it's gotten this winter was one day it got to be about 35 degrees and that only lasted one day).

However, during the summer we get weather of 105 degrees with the heat index being like 110-115 because of the 100% humidity.

I really believe basing events around weather conditions would be a near impossibility due to the variations of extremes per region due to the diversity of the U.S. alone.

That's why I try not to complain about it too much and during the summer time I'll just kind of sit in my car with the air conditioner going to play. And yes I know this isn't the way the game was intended to be played, but I still gotta catch em all.

 

I mean, it's a game primarily based upon walking around outside. What do you expect?

 

Exactly, but they know people cheat and just drive around for an hour. Obviously one group is going to be way better at this game than the other. There's nothing wrong with saying that's not fair when some people just don't have the same time and circumstances as others do so they can't compete at the same level. It just tires me the hell out when my friends are bragging about shit I could never do.

 

They don't see it as a competitive game, it's a leisurely game to play at your own pace. They can't control weather. There's indoor places around here that have gyms/pokestops that I can walk around if I feel like it.

 

yeah the mentality that the game should be dead for four months because it is cold for some people is absurd, that’s still favoring a group of people, it’s just favoring the group of people you and i are in

 

Yeah, I guess you can say it's "not fair" but it's been that way since the game launched. Niantic doesn't control weather in different parts of the world. They can't make certain events for certain parts of the world's weather. I live in Wisconsin and I just don't really play in the winter. At least with Adventure Sync I still get egg distance just from walking around my house/at work/wherever else.

 

It would be great if they made the events more “natural” and biome-specific and held them at different times for different places. Obviously stuff like specific holidays can’t get moved, but it is often rough for one major group of players or another to miss out on time-sensitive stuff because of unsafe conditions.

 

this would drive the incentive for spoofing through the roof unfortunately

 

How does it drive the incentive any more than being completely locked out of an event due to weather does?

 

Plus spoofers already take advantage of every single event that is held around the world, who cares what they do.
