Everyone I know in the towns around me have one but I still haven't seen one. Lots of Drowzee near me though.

 

I've just sat through 3 sets of 2 simultaneous lures & the best thing that came up was a 550cp Shellder and an Abra that ran away

Yeah kinda common, seeminly always around town/commercial areas as opposed to around my neighbourhood/outside of town. A pretty garbage pokemon though

 

Pinsir is so disappointing. The power of its attacks are always so weak

 

Can someone please help me with this question?

Newb question but how do you level up your rare pokemon? Like for instance I just caught a Rhyhorn this morning. If I rarely ever see one, how can I possibly level it up or evolve it without having it's candies? (Same question for your starters because I've never seen a Charmander anywhere else either)

 

Never seen one anywhere but some of my friends have. Drowzee are pretty in common for me though.

 

Jynx and Drowsee were all over the place in Chicago, but we have virtually none of either in St. Louis.

 

Really the only answer is to find more of that pokemon. Hatch it out of eggs. Go to a lure party. Get lucky. There's always a way if you put in the time and effort.

 

Since the update, the most diverse pokemon I've encountered was a gastly. What's up with that?

Agreed. NIANTIC really screwed up this game. I'll keep playing casually to fill the pokedex. Then GPS spoof to other continents to get the stupid exclusives, see what they have planned for legendary, and quit. I will not go through this shit again for Gen 2.

 

I hate to be so grumpy about the game, but I'm in the same boat. Now that it takes me double the amount of balls to get Pidgeys, I'm even less pumped to play. haha.

 

I haven't been having any new issues thankfully.

Haha I should have known that guy would be the one to think of that. One time I ran a lap around the park and the whole way through, all I could hear were people saying "Oh my god, did you catch that Wigglytuff over there?!" like it was the greatest thing to ever happen there. haha.

 

I had the exact same Wigglytuff experience. I may have uttered those exact words.

Still love this game, I just don't bother with Pidgey, Rattata, Weedle, Caterpie, and Spearow if they're over 100CP. It is literally not worth it at all to attempt to catch them at this point. Extremely difficult and even more frustrating.

On the flip side, I'm finding it much easier to catch a lot of other Pokemon now, so that's awesome. Overall weird update.

 

I don't even engage the "basic" pokemon anymore unless I have a lucky egg going. I'm level 21 and don't really care about levelling up all that much - the most enjoyable thing for me is finding new pokemon, which is why the (lack of) tracker has been so annoying for me.

 

I love leveling up because I want to see higher level Pokemon. This game is essentially a constant, never-ending grind.

 

IMO the higher level is only really necessary for battles, which for a loner like me aren't ideal because I'm slogging my way through 4 to 5 levels of a gym alone only for the 1 pokemon I leave behind to get annihilated within 5mins of leaving the gym!!!

 

I feel you to be honest, I know a lot of people enjoy catching a variety of Pokemon. For me that is definitely the best part, don't get me wrong. I just also really like collecting stardust and finding the highest level Pokemon to evolve and so forth. It helps to have somewhere well populated to go that has multiple Pokestops in the same spot though, otherwise grinding can become more like just walking around aimlessly. I've been doing that in my neighborhood lately to varying degrees of success.

 

I have a handful of Pokemon I want to get, but otherwise, I'm not too interested in a lot of aspects of the game. I'd really like a Charizard, but considering I've had five 2K eggs give me Caterpies and have never seen a Charmander besides the one I started with.....I doubt I'll ever get there :\

 

I was starting to feel that way but really it is just about timing more than anything. I've had high level pokemon spawn in the middle of nowhere as well as in busy areas. I think it's really about how much time you put into it.
