Eh, I think gen 4 is saved by the old gen evolutions. Also it has some great pokemon. Gen 5 has mostly boring designs tbh. Although most legendaries in gen 4 are stupid.

Which one do you think is the worst?

 

Gen five had more new pokes than ever before. They decided that going with rehashed pokemon and evolutions wasn't the way to go. They focused more on new game types and the story rather than silly minigames. (God I hated the underground) It had tons of great new mons with some cool typings. It just felt like a game for people who were tired of the same old Pokemon. I could spend all day talking about how much I love stuff from gen five. For now, I'll just leave you with the coolest thing we got.

 

I don't think any of them are terrible, but gen 7 is pretty weak in my opinion. There are a few cool ones, but a majority are just meh.

 

Wait wait wait. Are we talking about Pokemon in the gens or the games themselves?

 

Gen four and seven fed on nostalgia above all else. Between the Alola stuff, the battle tree, and the Looker quests, it didn't feel like there was much for core fans.

Yeah I was talking about the Pokemon designs, not the game themselves. I prefer having less new Pokemon but with great designs than a ton of new ones with boring designs. If we're talking about the games, Gen 4 sucked. Haven't played further than that.

Best Gen is Gen 2.

 

I wonder if we will start seeing bigger spreads between the gens now. Two years for three and most likely four coming soon has been a good pace, but I wonder how far down the line Niantic is thinking. Getting to the end of what has been released in the main games seems like a point they would want to avoid unless they add in more mechanics.

 

Best gen is Digimon World 3.

 

Would be cool if they released new original Pokemon for Pokemon Go. Or put out some Gen 8 Pokemon in Go before the Gen 8 games come out.

What was the gap between gen 2 and gen 3? Gen 3 was only last October, I remember because it was shortly after I'd started playing.

My speculative release timeline has gen 4 coming out early next year, considering we have two Regis and potentially Deoxys/Jirachi* to get through as Raid bosses before Gen 3 is "over".

*Think Jirachi will be saved for Special Research though.

I swear!!! I was definitely flabbergasted haha. My girlfriend was in shock, all she wanted was one sunglasses that was high 90s. She struck out while I got 3 perfects!

It's called Pokegenie. I think it can only be used for iOS? But there's one called IV Calc that works as well for android phones. It's pretty helpful!

 

You forgot Jellicent and Eelektross, my two favorite gen 5 Pokemon.
