I can never even really see a pattern with how common they are. With Larvitar, Roselia, Shellder, Pikachu, etc., it literally only took me two (or less) tries to get those shinies during the boosted spawn times. But on the other hand, I never got a shiny Charmander or Dratini during their Community Days, and I clicked on 200+ Makuhita during the fighting event with no luck.

 

It’s just completely random. Of the ones you mentioned I got no Roselia, Shellder, or Pikachu despite playing a ton, but tons of every community day except Dratini (only two) and I also got two Makuhita during that event but no Meditite. I think I’m up to 23 separate shinies at the moment but still none of a few that most people seem to have. I’ve seen like 5-600 Swablu with no luck.

 

1 hour lucky eggs and 3x catch XP should start today at 4PM EST, along with the other bonuses unlocked so far

My goal has officially become to grind it out over the next week with my 30 lucky eggs and try to get to 40.

 

I’m so damn close to 40, only 1.25 mil away

 

My point was more that there shouldn't be a pattern during the boosted periods if it were truly completely random. Like...the rareness of the shinies still has to fluctuate at different times.

I know the spawn rates are boosted making it easier to get one (because you simply have more chances) but catching most within one or two spawns and then never catching some of the others doesn't really seem logical to me - there should logically be some results in between.

 

I’ve still got quite a bit to go. I’m about 3.5 million away. But I honestly feel like if I just grind it the fuck out this week I can get there (or at least super close).

 

I'm only 15 million away from lvl 40

 

So, I hate it but yesterday I knew I wasn’t going to get to go out and play really so I saved a research task I knew I could do at my house. Needless to say, I completely forgot to do it and now I know longer get my pokes top and catch for the day streak on the same day I get my research streak. I know it’s just a little thing but it was so nice to get all three on the same day.

 

Up to about 25 eggs and no vulpix.

Haven't even seen a Roselia.

 

I have 9 7k eggs incubating right now. One of these better be a Vulpix and one better be a Grimer. Also, I really don’t like that they added Rattatas to the mix. Hatched 4 of them yesterday

 

Are Vulpix a regional egg? Like does it matter where the egg is sent from? Because I've hatched a lot from you guys and I've only gotten Meowth, Grimer and Sandshrew.

 

Just hatched 6 of the 9. 3 Rattata and 3 Meowth. This is getting pretty frustrating

 

Are they eventually going to release the Alolan types into the wild?

Edit: also, I didn’t realize it was triple XP. I honestly thought it was double. This leads me to believe that we are getting pretty close to a level cap raise. I mean getting 10,000 xp for becoming great friends with someone is pretty crazy in my opinipn. Also, just realized if you pop a lucky egg during a legendary raid you are gonna get 60,000xp. Time to start the level 40 grind as soon as the triple xp goes live.

 

Alolan Rattata is available in the wild. The others aren't with no word about the future.

 

Part of me feels like a level cap increase is coming really soon and part of me feels like that is still years away. I really hope I can do a ton of raids this week with the bonus. I just wish I could have done more during the crazy pokestop event. That was insane.

 

That stop event had me driving all over town and hitting up places I’ve never stopped at before. That’s how I got to 39 so fast. Now because they did that one time I actually avoid hitting stops I’ve never spun before just in case they ever do it again lol

 

I got a new phone last week and I was so excited to get back into Pokemon Go, as my last phone was getting so laggy and the battery drained so fast, Pokemon Go just wasn't worth playing... now I cannot get the app to open without crashing upon load up. It's such a disappointment.

 

Yeah I got lucky at the start because I was out of town for the holiday, but then things came up and ruined my plans to hit up a few more cities that week. I’ve still done more than half of 38 in like a little over a month so I can’t really complain. I wish I had more time to raid during the week with everyone.

 

Yeah, I’m a teacher and this is the time I get to play the most. Unfortunately I can’t really Raid past 4-5 and everyone in my group raids around that time, but for triple XP I’m gonna try to figure it out this week lol

 

How does anyone find out what global challenge rewards have been unlocked? Am I stupid? I searched on Pokemon Go's website, Twitter and other stuff, but they only mention Articuno Day and catch XP. I was just trying to look at the fine details.
