a community day for a gen4 starter as an introduction would actually be great, since once the rollouts happen, the starters are amongst the rarer finds off the bat.

just caught a 341 cp Feraligatr lol. i've never actually seen a third stage evo out in the wild like that let alone so weak. perfect gym troll.

 

1/4 egg hatch distance as well

gonna solely shiny hunt on this one, not gonna catch a billion looking for ivs. gonna go ham on those eggs tho

 

So I have no idea, I just started playing this game again and haven't played since launch, but how do you even get shinies? I got two shinies in Pokemon Quest and I just started playing that a few days ago haha.

 

Shinies are completely random from what i know, usually the community day subjects have a shiny version available and i believe most legendary raids as well. Not every pokemon has a shiny version.

 

It's randomized. Basically, click on every Pokemon that has the potential to be a shiny and have hope.

 

it's pretty low odds. it's not like the main series games where every Pokemon has a shiny form from the get go, they roll them out gradually, typically a couple per event. for the current water event, Shellder is the new shiny.

in the wild, odds aren't great, but they're much better than the core games. think it's like a 1/2,000 chance instead of the 1/8,000 you'd encounter in a main series game. that's for standard wild encounters. if you encounter it through a raid, an egg hatch, or as a reward for a research task, the odds are higher. for legendaries, the new pattern seems to be their shiny variants appear the second time they come around.

Community Days are the real boon: the specific Pokemon for that specific day has ridiculous shiny odds

 

I'll give you one shiny Gyarados, three Moltres, and 671 Pidgeys for that.

 

Every fully evolved water starter Pokemon can learn that move.

 

I caught a 171 CP Charizard a few months after the game came out. I kind of wish I had kept it.

 

I've caught a Charizard and a Meganium a year ago. Caught a wild Blastoise this weekend.

 

I caught a wild blastoise way back when I only had like 15 squirtle candies. I was super pumped. I’ve also been hoarding candies ever since because I’ve never had a decent squirtle worth evolving.

 

I caught like 4 double digit cp 3rd stage evolutions. Pretty much the only way I come across them

 

The new game opening screen is beautiful!

 

Damn, can't make use of the 1/4 egg distance because I'm working.

 

Really don't need a Squirtle event.

 

I have a wild 37cp charizard.

 

I got the update but none of the new stuff is in the game yet. Any idea as to when the new changes go live?

Got my second 98% Feraligatr. Would happily trade both for a shiny Shelder.
